Eddie couldn't get him a fight in the first half of this year and will force him to be inactive until Canelo is ready to get smoked again. Eddie saw Bivol as a cherry pick for Canelo. Now that Bivol has greater name recognition matchroom is failing to capitalise on Bivol's star power by keeping him inactive and making him fight in the middle east. Bivol should sign with Top Rank.
Bivol team is the only one the blame for his inactivity and bad matchup before Canelo. He was bad against Richards. Bivol not fighting Beterbiev this year is only his teams fault. Waiting Beterbiev to become 40 years old. sneaky MF'ers
This is professional boxing. They're trying to get maximum profit from a short career. Why not fight others and make more money, instead of fighting Beterbiev and face the risk of losing? If they lose, they won't be paid much as they used to be. This is business. They don't fight for glory, they fight for money.
Meh, they got him the Canelo fight and followed it with Ramirez. Then tried to make a unification fight with Beterbiev. Also tried to make a fight with Buatsi. It´s not been a great run, but it´s been decent.
Which is why fighters like Canelo get nothing but respect from me, we got fans like you out here telling fighters to duck fights and scam fans out of money, salute to REAL fighters
Bivol is not from US/UK. You may be shocked, but humans from different parts of the world are not money driven, they think there are a lot of things more important than profit.
The Buatsi fight falling through is because Buatsi wouldn't get in the ring with Bivol. That one can't be blamed on Hearn but Hearn not finding another opponent is frustrating
How do you know Matchroom is forcing Bivol to be inactive? It's team Bivol who chose to wait for Canelo rematch.
They will retire a few years later. They want to be rich in this short period of time. It is smart. Don't blame them.
Bivol was supposed to fight Buatsi in June. Buatsi didn't sign and a replacement wasn't found. Bivol was willing to fight in June.
Well said, and it´s not like Bivol hasn´t been making good money over the years. I wouldn´t mind making 100s of thousands per title fight. Where I am, 400k is a really nice house and I would need less than 2mil to live the rest of my life in actual comfort. Bivol is probably already set.
Being the face of the sport, it's way easier to dicate who and when you fight though. Most fighters don't have that luxury.
