    Round 1

Soylybayev is putting the jab in first, reaching with it, full extension, bringing it all the way back to base with his thumb brushing his own armpit, right glove held protectively in place at his jaw the whole time. Araiza rolls his way in low, arms forming bumper lanes around his skull, headbutting Soylybayev in the stomach and colliding, bouncing off him and back into punching range. Soylybayev is just slapping at him with the right behind the poking jab. Araiza is pin-balling his way around the ring, bouncing off the ropes and Soylybayev himself. Araiza's haplessness catches up with him as he is caught with a shot while ricocheting and goes briefly down. Flash KD.

    10-8 Soylybayev

Having to go to work in 5 hours is a big bummer though. He'll probably only end up getting 4 hours shuteye, if that. I'm not a good sleeper at the best of times and I really hate not getting enough.

    Round 2

Soylybayev is slapping at Araiza with the wide right, catching him on the left eye socket as the shorter Mexican pulls straight back with no defense. Araiza is jogging away from Soylybayev, then ramming headlong into him like a human bullet. Body flurries by Araiza, very light and not dissuading Soylybayev from crowding in and pumping the jab over the nape of Araiza's neck and continuing to sweep in the wide, nearly open-handed right. Araiza is slapped down again. Up quickly, again. Soylybayev is hopping in place and sticking with his formula of pumping jabs at head-level (even though Araiza ducks them and lets them brush his back) and slapping lazily with the right even though Araiza is now mostly staying too close to hit.

    10-8 Soylybayev

    20-16 Soylybayev

Maybe it's just because I'm super tired but these two are about as tiny as any boxers I've laid eyes on, with the exception of Baby Jake Matlala.

Ouch! That puts a totally new complexion on things.

Any idea how long till he's out? Are we talking minutes? Please say yes

Okay, lightweight Golovkin is starting to annoy me. How difficult can it be to stop Araiza? He's tiny, pudgy, not very elusive, has no pop to keep anyone honest, and is too weak to even block more than one punch without his guard shattering! His one move is barrel-rolling into you!

(okay, in fairness, of the half a dozen guys that have managed to stop him in 45 bouts, all were at least fringe world contenders at some point in their careers...but STILL!)

    Round 3

Soylybayev is just slapping away on the back of Araiza's head. Rinse & repeat. Very boring.

The 1st and 2nd were only vaguely interesting because they each featured a knockdown, and those were pretty lame knockdowns. That last round nearly put me to sleep. This is ugly and uneventful with a low talent quotient.

My favourite Morricone tune with the hip hop beat? Cool. Still desperately want to sleep though.

To be fair to Araiza, the last few rounds he is actually fighting back, throwing a few weak jabs up in the air while jumping up at Soylybayev and then burying flaccid crosses into his underarm. Soylybayev is just wiping his arms clear with a curtain-parting motion and continuing to fire energy-wasting combinations of arm-punches, having no effect on Araiza though he is clearly winning on aggression.
