Dmitry Mikhaylenko is a 5'9 29 year old Welterweight with a 20-0 9 KO's record. Born in Slavyansk-na-Kubani, Russia and fighting out of Gelendzhik. Dmitry in my opinion is a truly special talent and its very appropriate that he fights out of Gelendzhik, its also the home town of brilliant Russian Middleweight fellow Dmitry, Dmitry Pirog who his style bears some similarities. He's as awkward as they come constantly bobbing, weaving and rolling his head, rarely being caught flush, his style is maddening to prepare for, he's not a KO artist by any stretch but he constantly brings the pressure and overwhelms most opponents in close if their power doesn't bother him, he slides and slips his way in like a far less attractive Chris Algieri or even something of a Russian Herrera/Toney hybrid, and as of late began putting his punches together efficiently to do maximum damage in the long run, leading to a string of late stoppages. Work, work, work his workrate is brutal as relentless as Robert Guerrero. Kathy Duva has another Russian diamond in the rough sure to be a worthy opponent for many in the division. Mikhaylenko has savagely beaten into submission two of his recent good opponents in Cruz and Johan Perez stopping him when no one has before.
