Even if that was the case, I think Dirrell deserves another chance to redeem himself, he's after all a world class talent and the more of them in the premiere slots of boxing, the better.

All I've read is Demers had problems legally and couldn't make it, so Dirrell is looking for a new opponent.

I'm not sure why people feel the need to exaggerate, but at no point did Glenn Johnson "buckle" froch. As for Johnson knocking out Roy Jones that was a million years ago and right after Tarver had knocked him out. It's not relevant to anything.

He's not a threat to bute and if the fight ever went down Bute would be a huge favorite.

 

Even if that were the case, he needs to earn his way back to the championship fights again -- put in the work. He shouldn't be able to (and likely won't) have either HBO or Showtime throwing hefty sums of money at him after they were burned in the Stevens fight and S6.

 

He hurt Froch in the 8th round, Carl did admit he was stung by a right hand in the 8th.

And in comparison to Froch, Bute is like china porcelain.

 

He said he was "stung". You said he was "buckled". There's a world of difference. Buckled is when the legs buckle. Hence the name.

I don't know what your point is. Everyone gets hit hard and stung during a fight. The question is, does Johnson have a chance at dropping bute? No, he doesn't. Bute will just dance around and throw combos a la Froch, and Johnson will have difficulty getting inside where he needs to be.

 

Andrade was putting the heat on Bute even in the second fight, and we all know what happened in their first outing.

Glen Johnson is tougher than Andrade and far more accomplished, he's on a different level.

Don't tell me he doesn't have a chance of stopping Bute, you're out of your god damned mind.

Froch certainly has a good beard what makes Bute glass-jawed to you people? is it a flash knockdown from Golovkin when he was a amateur or getting dropped in the first Andrade fight due to exhaustion were a 15 year old could of pushed him over ...he was also up at the count of 8 in that one(I know the ref screwed Andrade in that one, Bute got like 20 seconds to recover he wasn't down that long though.)

 

eh... I don't know. Bute clearly doesn't like pressure fighters and Glen is one of the best pressure fighters in the sport. You know he's going to keep coming no matter what. If Bute doesn't have enough firepower to stop Johnson in his tracks (and who does, really?) it could make the last half of that fight very interesting.

Bute and Jonhson already have spared over 100 rounds . Bute is a conter pucher and love guys who's comming forward.

 

But you have to think, on the other hand, that Bute feels confident about beating Glen.. must be something in those sparring sessions that makes him feel he can take him.

 

I agree.. that's Bute's bread and butter... but what happens if Johnson is still there in the 10th, 11th and 12th, still coming forward like Andrade did in his first fight and with more power? That's the wildcard.
