This is probably a very unpopular opinion but whatever, it's what I wholeheartedly believe: I think Pirog would have clowned GGG, like straight pimped him out. Loved Pirog as a fighter. HIGHLY unlikely it would have happened, GGG probably too skilled for that to have happened, but it's what I believe to my core what would have happened had Pirog fought GGG.

imagine Pirog before his retirement vs current Canelo at middleweight. Who you think would win that fight?

Pirog was fantastic, but there hasn't been a middleweight in recent memory that easily beats this 160 version of Canelo, he's a fantastic fighter too. I got Pirog but Canelo's taking rounds, the hate clouds peoples view on his skills. Wicked chin, great defensively, great punch selection, hes a top notch fighter, its simples !

After Pirog-Ishida, I feel Pirog is vastly overrated.

You mean the same Ishida that had just gone twelve with PTP? The same one that got robbed against Canelo's brother? The same one that later fought at heavyweight? The same one that, yeah, GGG blew out in three rounds, but only directly after Williams and Pirog had just softened him up for 24 rounds pitching back to back shutouts, with Ishida eating countless flush punches?

    That one?

    Hmm. Okay.

Yup, the same one. And I am a huge Ishida fanboy :applaudit: Him moving up to HW was the most exciting thing for me that year.
Don't get it twisted, I don't think there are many who I would favor over Pirog. But when guys start saying Pirog would dominate the likes of Canelo, I call BS.
    He wasn't that good.

This straight-forward aggression of a dedicated fighter is a kryptonite against technical boxers with long amateur experience. Also, after the fight Pirog admitted that they were completely surprised by what Ishida were doing in the ring. In fact, Pirog and his team had expected Ishida to run away and fight on the outside.

You mean the Canelo that lost twice against GGG and was shut out by Mayweather and got a gift over Lara? Huh. Alright.
