Pirog wins this one, probably via competitive ud. Pirog's awkward style, solid power, and good stamina make him hard to figure out, and adjust to. Geale is a tough guy, with solid stamina, that usually maintains a consistent workrate, but I don't think he has enough tools to out do Pirog. Pirog 116-112 Geale.
But with that, I think this would be a entertaining bout, that I wouldn't be suprised to see play out completely different than I said, if it were to actually happen.
I think you got it right the first time, J. :yep Geale is a solid competitor, but barely showed more versatility than Sylvester. He doesn't bring the same qualities as a Maciel to disrupt Pirog. UD or late stoppage for the Russkie, after making the Aussie miss buckets of leather and looping counters into his face all night in a total compubox cluster****.
:deal I think that is where my head was at in my second post, but couldnt figure out how to express it.
I feel like Geale's workrate is more likely to win over judges than Pirog's awkward style. I thought Pirog was beating Jacobs before the knockout, but Jacobs was up on two of the cards, and I think Geale's style is even more conducive to racking up rounds. That said, Pirog's style and power are likely going to cause problems for anyone, and this is a fight I definitely would not mind seeing.
