Dmitry Pirog vs Jermall Charlo

Young unbeaten Jacobs > either Charlo. Pirog would deflower both of Mama Charlo's babies, and probably maul them so badly she could not tell which is which anymore (in other words, she'd be joining the rest of the planet)

 

Didn't they both do the blonde-frosted tips eyesore at different points, however?

edit: yeah A had it vs. Trout and E had it vs. Lubin.

It would also help if either of them wasn't super boring to watch.

 

Too bad Pirog fell off from chronic back issues. What a fun dynamic fighter he was. Evidently the back issues were around before the jacobs fight but did not really start getting bad until right after.

Pirog was classic in the Jacobs fight Comes out to a Black Sabbath song in a robe that does not match his trunks and 40 seconds into the fight Steward alreay sees that Jacobs is screwed.

 

Would of been great to see Pirog in the mix with GGG, Canelo & BJS.

 

Yep, and people act like he was some one-hit-wonder but he actually was on a lot of people's radar even before Jacobs, turning in some terrific performances. He was GGG's destined nemesis.

 

Not sure I agree with the Jacobs > Charlo's assessment. Both Charlo's have beaten better opposition than Jacobs had beaten up to that point. I'd love to see Jacobs face either Charlo so I can see if my suspicions about him are correct. I'd favor that Pirog over lil Charlo at the moment. They are about the same size. I don't have enough info on Big twin at 160 yet to make a prediction though. He would have been bigger than Pirog, and has a better Jab than Jacobs, although he seems a bit more flat footed than Jacobs also. Both would be interesting fights.

 

He had 16 fights coming into the Jacobs fight. He wasn't on many peoples radar at all, from what I recall of several boxing forums back then. I was really impressed with the Russian slickness, and calculated boxing. A damn shame about his back. He'd have beaten Golovkin clear in my opinion.

 

Jacobs was the last fight where his back allowed him to fight at a decent level. Pirog fought with the injury in his fights after. I recall the Maciel fight in Russia, his back was ****ed. He refused to cancel the fight though, because it was at home. He had some issues in that fight, and it was clear he wasn't near the same level with his back bothering him. Maciel hurt him bad with a body shot at one point.

 

Pirog would knock him out! Jacobs needs to fight Charlo, but Charlo will only fight cripples, Jacobs refuses to fight a legit opponent................

 

Yeah that's how I remember those events as well.
