Vyacheslav Glazkov vs. Gbenga Oloukun, 10 rounds @ heavyweight

 

Round 1

Glazkov sticks a few jabs high on the head of Oloukun. Glazkov steps in and lands a hard uppercut, causing Oloukun to fold up abruptly. Oloukun covers up and circles in step with Glazkov, picking shots off. A few lunging overhands from a rear-leaning crouch by Oloukun, but no serious offense. Glazkov flicks jabs at him, harassing him from mid-range. Oloukun feigns the overhand right a few more times, then springs forward with a big fat left hook that misses badly. Right hand down the middle by Glazkov as Oloukun is resetting his feet. Three stiff jabs to the face by Glazkov. Oloukun waves his guard around. CHOPPING right to the back of the head by Glazkov.

Round 2

Glazkov steps out in a wide circle, sideface, probing out with his jab. Oloukun leans his upper body over to the right, slack and relaxed, peering at Glazkov. Crab-jabs from Oloukun. Big sloppy overhand right diving in, and Glazkov counters him back several steps with a quick left hook. Hard jabs by Glazkov, scoring under an attempted teardrop jab by Oloukun. Insistent, Oloukun keeps edging closer with most of his bulk turned to his own rear, jabbing out sideways at Glazkov. Hard 1-2/uppercut counter combo by Glazkov. Oloukun is halted a moment but quickly resumes the hunt - and walks face first into a stunning jab. Oloukun starts to try and duck in, but Glazkov still finds him with a submerging jab. HARD RIGHT TO THE BODY by Glazkov. Oloukun is flinching every time Glazkov makes even incidental contact now. Still coming forward, though.

Round 3

Glazkov flicks several accurate jabs into Oloukun's face while circling from about 2-3 paces away, throwing at the nearest point of convergence and quickly fading back leaving Oloukun swiping wildly at nothing when he counters with his own jab. Clinch as Oloukun steps in. Glazkov keeps circling, clockwise, jabbing Oloukun in the face. Glazkov blocks some wild overhand rights and gets his forearms up as trespass-proof goalposts when Oloukun tries to convert his attacks into grabbing attempts. Solid 1-2 counters by Glazkov when the right hands are not accompanied by grabbing attempts or telegraphed too much. Oloukun does get one good left hook in, flush on the jaw, little effect.

30-27 Glazkov

 

Round 4

Quadruple jab by Glazkov. 1-2 between the gloves by Glazkov. Oloukun steps back, hands low. Oloukun tries to quickly up-jab from the hip as Glazkov steps in on him. Glazkov's reflexes and head movement are too sharp, and he's able to flinch back, find a new angle, and counter before Oloukun has even retracted his jab to his hip. Hard jabs to the head by Glazkov as Oloukun shimmies down on bent knees and goes for a body shot. Oloukun ducks in front of Glazkov and takes a chopping right to the top of the head. Big wide leaping flurry by Oloukun, hitting arm and collapsing atop Glazkov against the ropes before getting spun out to open space again. Glazkov pokes a few jabs through Oloukun's shambles of a high guard. Oloukun gives up on that and opts for slickness instead, hands down and leaning over to his right a'la James Toney. That doesn't work out any better for him. Glazkov continues to bounce his knuckles off various points on Oloukun's skull with that left.

Round 5

Machine gun jabs by Glazkov, plodding in casually on Oloukun. Glazkov gets bored with landing jabs and steps back outside to circle around. Oloukun flops in on him with a big sloppy overhand right, and Glazkov checks it with a quick raise of his left arm. They muscle back and forth in the middle of the ring until Glazkov slides his shoulder out from under Oloukun. More jabs to the face by Glazkov while circling. Oloukun is getting more aggressive, diving down and jabbing the body and scoring a bit. Wild flurry up top by Oloukun, clinched and spun. Diving overhand right, countered by a stiff Glazkov jab to the flat of the nose. Oloukun jumps straight in with arms spread and enters a college wrestling lock with Glazkov before the referee splits them. More clinching. Oloukun is warned to not grind his head in there. Wild left hook by Oloukun from an outside crouch, missing as Glazkov flea-hops backward. Another clinch. Oloukun is making it ugly and rough, more his style of fight, and doing better but still losing clearly.
