By far the toughest fight of Salita's career, its happening at MSG on the Jones Calzaghe undercard. I'm not sure if Dmitry will be able to handle him, its a big test
Very tough fight for Salita! Kotelnik is an experienced pro who has shared the ring with quite a few names+ he is used to fighting abroad. I will bet my money on Kotelnik.
I actually went back and watched a bit of Salita to get reacquainted with him. He did show some potential but he just never proved against anyone, and I mean anyone. This guy has been rated for some time, he has barely took on anyone in the top 30 at jnr welter. Kotelnik stops him late. I said 8 or 9 rounds in another thread, around that maybe the 10th.
There are about three active Jewish fighters right now in the world. I always watch their fights if I can and I always root for them.
Fair enough, back in the day there used to be heaps ay? When the Jewish population in America was quite poor, is this correct? One other question Mex, What do you consider a Jew? Is a being a Jew mean belonging to a Religion or an ethnic group or both? Like can you have an athiest Jew and a black man who is member of the Jewish faith, at1(Anthony Thompson) for instance, are they both Jews? You know what I mean.
I consider a Jew anyone who is true Jewish ethnic descent or anyone is a devotee of the faith. And Yes, there used to be many excellent Jewish boxers back in the days when ghettos still referred to poor Jewish neighborhoods. You know basketball was originally considered a Jewish sport? It was played by Jews, and was even criticized for this.
salita botteld it.limond would have went through him and thye knew,so now they have gone for the easier option
I think Sailta's team is lured in because of the title. Seems like a very dangerous fight for a guy who could many say got a gift draw vs Montano, but I didn't see that fight myself. Kotelnik has a fight coming up soon vs Kimura, unless boxrec is incorrect.
Kotelnik's real challenge looms. The WBA #1 challenger Marcos Rene Maidana looks to be the real thing.
Limond's a good fighter but in fairness no one can legitimately see Kotelnik as anything but a step up from Limond. Kotelnik should beat Salita.
