Carthron is having his best moment, landing some jabs, staying tall and rotating his shoulders, popping the jab out hard, catching Ali's shots on his right palm, and backing Ali up with the uppercut. Ali's footwork is deteriorating, as he almost trips into the ropes while simultaneously backing up and jabbing. Wild looping right by Carthron misses. Carthron is turning Ali and jabbing him in the face. Almost easy work for Carthron. Where the hell was this superior skill for the last twenty minutes?? Ali is being made to look foolish, missing badly or getting his shots check-slapped out of the air. Carthron loads up on a big right hand and Ali sways, bending over backwards in slow motion and somehow dodging it because the punch is even slower. Ali mounts a rally and catches Carthron with a few good shots, but not enough to take the round back.

I know physiques don't matter so much in boxing, but looking at them wouldn't you think the chunky dude was the one with the losing record being fed to the unbeaten power puncher (with the sculpted bod)? Instead of vice versa?

Round 8

Carthron is really drilling the body with right hands, and pushing Ali back across the ring, actually looking physically stronger now. Left hooks coming forward off his toes, Carthron herding Ali around and ripping into that body as Ali throws a few heavy slaps back on the run.
