I hope and pray I'm 100 percent wrong, but I don't see him coming back from this. I had a horrible feeling as soon as I saw the knockout and the aftermath.

There has to be greater accountability in boxing. By that I mean a fighter's corner, the ref and the ring physician MUST be more vigilant. Day was listless in the corner the last few rounds. He was not going to quit so his corner or the ref or for chrissakes the ringside physician should have been looking out for him. You know how they suspend boxer's after grueling fights for a given period of time. They ought to do the same thing for refs AND ringside physicians when a serious injury or death. It ought to be mandatory and if a fighter either dies or is seriously injured under a ref's or ringside physician's watch there should be a 3 strikes you're out rule. Ruiz should not have refed another bout last night. This **** has got to stop. Yeah, boxing is dangerous but there are precautions that can be taken. Protect the fighters!

I'll keep repeating it until journalists pick it up. How ****ing hard is it to put one of these at ringside to use between rounds? You can bet your ass that the ringside doctor doesn't pick up **** using a pen light under bright lighting.

What exactly does the APD Screener do? What are ring physicians looking for when they examine the eyes?

It picks up a neurological defect (i.e. concussion). The ringside doctors use penlights for this but the penlight is practically just for show and extremely hard to perform outside of dim lighting.

I hate to say it but I get the impression a lot of these ringside physicians are flunkies. They just don't seem very engaged.

Yeah, and the grim side of it is that you have to question if boxing is ready for serious neuro testing during the fight.

Do you think Hearn would've liked it if Joshua-Ruiz were stopped after round three?

Everyone has high expectations on Usyk including myself. His opponent was a 1 week replacement who landed what 10 punches in 7 rounds? Guy had no business being in that ring let alone going 7 rounds.

This. It’s hilarious how these idiots are grasping at NOTHING but their alternate reality bull**** that’s not even there. Lol

    “Usyk stock goes down!”

Based off what?! He schooled and stopped the guy after the longest layoff of his career and coming off an injury. Lol

    Dear Patrick Day.

“I never meant this to happen to you. All I wanted to do was win. If I could take it all back, I would. No-one deserves this to happen to them. I replay the fight over and over in my head thinking what if this never happened and why did it happen to you. I can’t stop thinking about it myself. I prayed for you so many times and shed so many tears because I couldn’t even imagine how my family and friends would feel. I see you everywhere I go and all I hear is wonderful things about you. I thought about quitting boxing but I know that’s not what you would want. I know that you were a fighter at heart so I decided not to, but to fight and win a world title because that’s what you wanted and that’s what I want so I’ll use you as motivation every day and make sure I leave it all in the ring every time.”

    #ChampPatrickDay.

    With compassion. Charles Conwell.
