It is clear as water that paclar was put there in the ring so that yafai can execute him easily and build confidence. Instead of that, yafai gets himself into troubles in the early rounds, gets off the problems by punching paclar's nuts and makes a totally shitty fight. I wouldnt be very happy were I yafai's trainer, tbh.

He took the Choco fight because he thought Choco was done, was one of many who didn't take the Inoue fight when he was still in super-flyweight, and now against Paclar after getting knocked down and rocked several times he's gone to the patterned mix of "body-and-nuts shots". Sorry, to me that's grade-A down-the-checklist ***** behavior.

Yafai rallied towards the end of the fight, he could end up with a vacant title shot when Inoue moves up.

Fantastic to see Yafai change tactics mid fight.

Jerald gave it his all and made it a very hard fight for someone who should be levels above him, he's earned my respect big time.

96-93 x 2, 95 x 94 for Yafai. Fair scorecards, 96-93 is a little wide, but Paclar gave away all the rounds after the first 3. Yafai shook off some ring rust there.

Neither Kal or Chocolate Tito have been the same since they fought each other. Chocolate Tito hasn't scored a stoppage in any of his subsequent fights and Kal is shot to bits now

It's not a strong performance, I agree. Making it a dogfight has turned it around for him here, but it's not a recourse he can rely on against the real players, as we've seen.

if he thought Chocolatito might be there for the taking or not, he still had to go in and trade blows with a very high-level guy, and he picked himself off the canvas and showed courage to keep going until the referee saved him. Not a *****, for me.

Carl Frampton picked a path around Guillermo Rigondeaux, but generally seems to get enough of a pass, so I don't see why Yafai should be held to another standard there.

We all (rightly) celebrate Arturo Gatti's victory over Wilson Rodriguez, which involved some blows of dubious legality. Boxing fans have a selectively low threshold where it concerns the rough stuff. This wasn't exactly a Mares-Agbeko.
