I was a little late and just finished the replay and man, Bivol is legit. He was already legit after the schooling of Canelo but against a guy who probably outweigh him by 20 pounds come fight night is crazy. We need to see him against Bertibiev before it’s too late.

Look, I said Bivol would beat him for those very reasons, but still... let's not underrate this performance either. As flawed as Zurdo is, no one has ever been able to neutralize him to this degree. Sure, it was the skills and the speed, but also what I thought would play a part, the underrated power, that was freezing Zurdo in his tracks. That's going to make him a handful for virtually everyone in and around the division, including Beterbiev.

He only landed about 130 punches against Canelo. That is about 10 per round. Fairly anemic stats for a winning fighter. He won because Canelo landed even less. I do agree that Bivol has skill and excellent footwork. I just sense that something is missing. His power is a bit underwhelming. Not sure how he will react in a true firefight. Beterbiev will definitely bring some fire.

I agree with you. The Bivol-Beterbiev fight needs to happen before Artur gets any older. It will tell us a lot about both men.

Loma has more intestinal fortitude than Zurdo does. After the latter's performance tonight I'm left with no choice, but to disavow my fandom. Very underwhelming performance. Still, you're measuring Loma against a fighter who has shown now a decided lack in grit and tenacity.

And it's not as if Loma is hiding a glass jaw either. Its sturdy and solid. Loma is simply a bully. What else can you call a man who taunts, disrespects, and beats up on overmatched opposition and then turtles up when finally confronted by a man who can also dish it out right back to you?

I know. I'm not saying he's the grittiest guy out there, I'm saying he's probably due more credit from you on that score than you've previously been willing to give, considering the guy you and I were both rooting for tonight went out with not much more than a disconsolate whimper.

Ach, the best bit about that was the 10-15 seconds before it where Bivol was playing possum on the ropes, giving Zurdo a wee carrot, and then boom! Sweet!

Loma would have 6 losses instead of 2. LOL. Nah, I think of this as well. Or if Golovkin had come to the US 4-5 years earlier.

Ok am I crazy or not?

Did Zuro land one clean power punch in the whole fight? I can't say I've seen one flush shot from him.

He landed his cross well here and there. Not frequently enough to turn rounds.

I would agree that he has been overrated. Which isn't to say that he isn't very good. It's just guys went a little cuckoo over him.
