His sheer dominance at 126 and 130 had alot to do with it. He is now fighter biggers fighters than himself and remains a top talent.

Look, this isn't really the thread to get into it, but I'm not as impressed by the competition as others here have seemed to be. Which isn't to say it isn't largely respectable and the best available to him out of a generally middling crop. Your mileage may vary, and that's fine.

Had Lomachenko remained at 130lbs, his ideal weight, he'd be on a short list of the very best to have campaigned in that division over the last 30-40 years.

Missed this fight but the outcome doesn't surprise me. Zurdo was all smoke and mirrors.

Warlando was also 148 on the night, so within 1-2 pounds of "welterweight" Pacquiao on fight night.

That's an additional factor, yes, but a frequently stated one on these pages, whereas I think the quality Salido still brought to the table in early 2014 tends to get overlooked in the rush to mitigate Lomachenko's defeat.

Every time I see Bivol he looks top-class: footowork, balance, IQ, blinding speed-especially with his left hand. But Beterbiev might not even think twice about Bivol's right hand.

I would say zurdo disappointed.. looked slow, gangly & cumbersome.. but I think part of it is Bivol is just that good... made him look average , i think he's a very solid fighter who just met a special one tonight... had it 10-2 Bivol.. hes a lock for FOTY now ..

Bivol exhausts his opponents with range control. He forces heavier and stockier opponents to constantly move and be in the 'hit or be hit' range. Implied and actual pressure for almost every second of every round.

imagine this for a super six tournament... Kovalev, Bivol, Ward, Stevenson, Beterbiev & Gvozdyk...
