Avcı walks straight in the front door, playing directly into Williams' hands. Avcı starting to puff a little as he plods along, putting both fists up on skylines. Williams just casually steps outside, sets himself, and catches Avcı on the way in with flush counter 1-2 and 1-2-3 combos. Beautiful work by Williams on the backfoot, putting on a clinic. Avcı barrels him into the ropes and misses several straight shots up top, causing Williams to pout, bat his eyes and thrust his chin out with his eyebrows popping comically. The crowd laughs uproariously. Avcı being thoroughly humiliated.

OH MY GOD - I think he... did he do it??

They are removing Avcı's gloves as his corner speaks animatedly with someone at ringside, and he looks upset. Pretty sure this is a quit job. WILLIAMS FORCED A RETIREMENT! UPSET! YES!

The crowd isn't having it. They chant "DANNY! DANNY! DANNY!"

 

Not sure if you caught it but he wasn't even sure which direction to go leaving the ring; he was asking the ref where he should head and there was clearly a language barrier. Doesn't even have a translator with him.

They either cut the length in half on the fly (probably when they realized Williams had momentum), or BR had it wrong in the first place, or there was a cut that forced a TD and neither of us caught it because we don't speak Ukrainian.

 

Odikadze is like a cross between Hank Azaria, young Peter Lorre and Al Pacino, and Deep Roy.

...except take whatever that is making you picture mentally, and make it 500% less attractive.

Round 1

Odikadze is jumping in and flinging right jabs and overhand lefts at the unbeaten Zaporozhye native. Zubko has a listed 2½″ height advantage over the Georgian southpaw but it appears to in fact be much wider. Zubko able to easily play keepaway, using quick light steps to continuously turn Odikadze and counter him with a deluge of left jabs from above.

Yeah if he's 5'7" there is absolutely no way Zubko is only 5'9½″, or vice-versa.

 

Round 2

Odikadze simply can't lay a glove on Zubko. Too much shorter, and slower, and ...doesn't really have any good strategy besides chasing and lunging. Zubko in cruise-control, boxing tall, legs splayed into a wide trapezoidal base and comfortably jabbing down into the face and dodging Odikadze with minimally taxing footwork. Odikadze has a dozen stoppages in his eighteen losses but doesn't yet look to be in danger of another here - Zubko content to play jabby patty-cake.
