why do u say that? because our fighters get TV time on HBO?
u know that is an American network right? TS is from Britain, so he should know first hand of how hyped their fighters are. at least american hypejobs are more talented.

and another thing is, that America only has a few stars. Mayweather, Ward, formerly Ortiz, Broner, Rios, and and formerly Berto. most of them don't sell crowds too well.

Yes, but this is deserved hype as the premier league is multiple levels ahead of the MLS, whereas boxing in the UK or Europe is not that much lower in comparison to the US.

10 years back, for sure. Now they do not. Networks are flag waivers for the guys they have under contract. That will not change regardless of nationality.

True. It's natural to support your fellow countrymen. Also I think it depends on a fighter, sometimes on a case by case basis. Broner, for example, gets a lot of hype because he's flashy, cocky, mayweather-like and contraversial as well as talented. A lot of olympic fighters also tend to get more exposure/hype also.

The UK has a smaller population and smaller pool of fighters than the US, so when a prospect comes along they might tend to make more of it, because he may be the only decent prospect in the division. But it's hard to measure: I often think that if Kell Brook, David Price etc were American a lot of people would change their tune and they would be more hyped on that side of the Atlantic. And vice-versa.

Countries around the world are generally exposed to American culture more than most, in the English speaking world at least, and this includes exposure to American fighters. It's little wonder many boxers re-locate to the US, to get more exposure and recognition.

Asian or Eastern fighters (with the few exceptions of Pacquaio, Donaire) are far less hyped on here or in the English speaking world, but probably are talked about in their own country. Taking Broner as an example again, if he was British would there be as much hype? From British fans, yes. If he was from Japan would there be as much hype? Probably not.

you do know that the brits beat the americans far more than they beat us?

munroe beat terrazas. groves beat sierra. who are these mexicans that the brits should fight? the british domestic scene is the very best in the world! damn, a lot of them would beat your world contenders.

the americans are in a league of their own. jones, guinn, lacy, arreola, wilder, mitchell, alexander, dawson, dirrell etc etc... the list goes on.

Canadians(err... Canadian transplants). Lemieux and Bute were supposed to be the second coming(well Bute was at least) and got steam rolled the second they stepped up.

    Most definitely...

Wilder and Russell jr are the 2 main culprits at present.
They will be crushed the minute they step up.

To be fair every country over hypes there own fighters.
Groves and Fury are our current ones ready to be exposed at world level.

wheres the hype? i don't see them filling arenas in the US like the hypejobs of the UK. Wilder hasn't even been on HBO or Showtime yet.

Kell Brook is a real hypejob.

dont confuse ESB with real life.

We fill arenas over here because we enjoy our boxing and like to get behind our favourite fighters.

Not many US fighters do fill arenas.. Why I don't know.(maybe you do)

Kell Brook is overhyped but I wouldn't go as far as to right him off as hype job just yet.. He got a massive wake up call last time out which I think he needed and may stand him in good stead for the future.

I don't live in the states or read any American boxing literature/media so I can only really gage hype from what I read online.. (inc boxing forums/ESB)
And those 2 are definitely being hyped on the Internet just now :deal

Allcountries over-hype their home grown fighters, however, the Brits are by far the worst,to be totally honest on the subject.

    No, thats a lie.

We are very realistic about our fighters, i've said time and time again that Fury and Price are just "decent" and that Kell Brook is european level, you should have a peruse of the british forum once in a while, it's the most level headed section of this forum.

Americans however truly belive that guys like Wilder and Mitchell are "the future" of the heavyweight division.

You hype ALL your fighters to high heaven, but because you have such vast numbers, one or two of them do actually live up to it, and so you claim some sort of moral victory.
