As much as people preach that they arnt homers to their country, most blatently are, being a patriot is natural, you can tell most Americans think lower of EU fighters from reading the forums. Now if Joe and Ricky both win, the top 2 p4p fighters are going to be pasty white Brits who have been ignored by the American Media for too long. What will the reaction be? Denial?Acceptance?

Ricky really hasn't been ignored by the American media for too long. He's been given plenty of attention by the American boxing publications.

Why would they care? Boxing is an individual sport. Plus who says Calzaghe gets to be P4P number 2 just for beating Kessler?

In addition, most American boxing fans (atleast those I know) are rooting for Hatton to win. Do the British really like to polarize things?

Myself, and all the boxing fans I know could care less about Nationality. since joining this board I couldn't beleive the ammount of bickering between European fans and American fans. From an outside perspective of a person who could care less, its the European fans that seem to make a big deal about it.

A s a brit it will be nice, but ill not crow about it,most yanks are pretty cool in the past when they dominated a lot of boxing bar a few twats,as a individual sport as well,i doubt it really matters as much,he would not for example get a huge parade in london, near manchester maybe, but most people here will just shrug there shoulders roll there eyes and get back to watching dancing with the stars or what ever other **** is huge here at the moment.

I can see why I had trouble making you accept that Russia won the space race. It's cool to be patriotic, I am too. It's not cool to undermime and insult the achievements of other countries.

    I agree.

You dont see threads asking if the Brits would care if, two weeks from now, they had no fighters on the P4P list or if their fighters would be low on that list.

I'm in agreement with the above. I have fighters I like from all over the world, only one of whom is from my native England. I'm not a Calzaghe or Hatton fan, for some reason they seem to wind me up a bit. I like Junior Witter but I don't get any ideas about him being P4P number 1 like the Calzaghe fans do with their man.
