Do any GGG fans think he could have been competitive against the following:

I don't have a single fight to gauge how good Golovkin really is. He looks really good against limited fighters like Monroe, Stephens, and Geale.

There is not a single ounce of doubt in my mind that Golovkin is at least one level above the current batch of Middleweights, that however does not translate into Golovkin possessing the skills or talent to beat certified legends like the ones mentioned on the OP.

He may be competitive, or he may not, it is very difficult to gauge. Golovkin has NEVER fought a complete fighter. His best opponent is a WW who moved up 13 pounds from one fight to the next.

When you factor each fighter's skill set, Golovkin's biggest advantage is either his power, or his size, and that is it. He's not outboxing any of the fighters mentioned, his only chance would be reduced to a punchers chance if you're honest with yourself and factor in that all those fighters are better skilled in almost every category.

 

Hopkins would get slaughtered...

 

GGG has not accomplished enough to be compared to those greats. In terms of ranking he is well behind, but since the thread is about h2h match up at middleweight/ supermiddleweight, I assume.
GGG would competitive in all those match up.
Less Likely to beat Hagler.
Loses to jones.
More likely to beat Duran.
Less likely to beat Hopkins.
Less likely to beat Leonard.
50-50 with hearns.
Less likely to beat Toney.
Slapped silly by calzaghe.

Roberto Duran (favour GGG as the natural MW)
Bernard Hopkins (very sure that Hopkins wins convincingly)
Sugar Ray (SR Leonard could arguably be my favourite fighter but at MW its tough to say as he wasnt a natural MW. Cant decide)
James toney (favour GGG. I think it could be like the Tiberi fight)
tommy hearns (favour GGG against Hearns at MW)
Joe Calzaghe (very sure that Calzaghe wins convincingly)
