it sucks when you spend thousands to go to a fight and then your guy loses though thats for sure

I used to go to a decent amount but that sort of stopped after a while. As someone pointed out sometimes the undercards are so bad that they can literally take you out of it so that when a fight you want to see is on, yer still relatively bored out of your mind.

I haven't gone to a BIG fight in a while but I still try to make it to some fringe shows in new york if my budget allows me.

I used to go often. Not now. I got old. It's TV, films, and U-Tube for me now.

    You're in UK's boxings heartland,thats good value,i envy you:tong

My mate is now a BBBC inspector from manchester & it all happens on his patch:fire he's been given the job of overseeing the Ruiz corner so he'll be signing off on the gloves & all the lucky ****er.

There's the odd show in Southampton 1/2hr train away but thats just the usual annual crowd tear-up ugly thugs brawl, area title fight max, or it's wembley/O2 in London, far too much hassle getting there never mind getting back. we're isolated down here on the coast as far as big time boxing goes & living next too 7 miles of beach ai'nt no compo in winter.

I don't even enjoy going, honestly. Everything I've ever been to, basketball, soccer, boxing, things get ruined by a bunch of drunken slob twats that are always surrounding me. I prefer good camera work, to be enjoyed from the comfort of my home. Just me.

If you stay in northwestern Queens(Long Island City,Astoria,Sunnyside or Woodside)which is just a short train ride or taxi ride from the Garden and midtown Manhattan, you can find a reasonably priced hotel.

Have yet to make a pro debut, but I used to train and spar with Brian Paul and Dean Nichols at a gym in Lima. Paul had 20 pro bouts and was an amateur champion with over 80 bouts. Nichols was 5-17 as a pro I think. Paul said I had a heavy natural jab that pushed him back. My grandfather was the real fighter in our family, having a three or five round exhibition with Billy Conn during WW2. Grandpa always wanted to turn pro was ended up wounded in battle, collected his Purple Hearts and gave up the idea of being a boxer.

Growing up in Brooklyn in the '40s, i was a gym rat 'n lived at the fights -- amateurs 'n pros-- almost every night of the week. Later, in Florida, Texas 'n L.A. for the last 30 years.

    It's in my blood.

I live in New York and religiously go to 2 Golden Gloves shows(annual amateur boxing tourney in NY) yearly.I used to go to the old Felt Forum to see guys like Kevin Kelly and even saw Sweet Pea and Buddy McGirt in the big arena.I have gone to see John Duddy in the Garden a few times, but for the most part my all-time favorites are all retired as I'm an old man,so I prefer to watch in the comfort of my living room.

Last one I went to was Mundine VS Geale, If there are good bouts in Brisbane I will look to attend. Bit hard to attend great bouts here, so I collect dvds to watch.

In the mid-'70s, C, I had an amateur team with Tommy Gallagher in South Queens. We had some GG champs, 'n a few that turned pro. That was when the Felt Forum was the only venue for the quarters and the semis, and the main arena at the Garden was for the finals.

I go when I can. Haven't been to a big fight. I saw Tommy Hearns fight in 2006 but it wasn't a big name. His last fight to date.

I go to local cards when I can. Seen a lot of guys fight multiple times, which is cool.
