Do any of you undertsand what an UNWRITTEN RULE IS?

It really is getting pathetic. I've watched that sequence several times. Cortez says let's go, and then pulls them to the center of the ring, touches their gloves and steps away. At this point, it's time to fight. I don't understand all this other bull**** about sportsmanship and unwritten rules. To make matters worse, Mayweather had his hands up in a fighting position. If all of this isn't enough to let Ortiz know what time it is, that left hook definitely should have. I can't understand why the incompetent cheater doesn't deserve all of the blame. Why should we blame the intelligent guy who knows and stays within the rules?

 

what floyd did was really low. if he ain't cool w/ his opponents action, why would he act like he's accepting his apology and once he gets the right distance... BAM!!!

what if the same scenario played out but Ortiz after having a point deducted from him offered to touch gloves with Mayweather, and Mayweather accepted but Ortiz whacked him instead with a two-piece and knocked him out. That would be considered legal. What would ESB say? Yeah, written rules trumps unwritten rules.

Although Cortez would not have counted Floyd out and instead disqualify ORtiz. I know this old man had a man-crush on floyd

No where am I defending Ortiz's actions or even ****** ass Margarito. I have yet to see a person say the headbutt was acceptable. Ortiz ****ed up but he did get a point taken away, so that should have been the end of it. Floyd has enough skill to win without cheapshots, but I guess that's just part of his character to fight like a coward. Ortiz once again proved he definately is a *****.

You are right many other race fighters said Floyd did nothing illegal and I'm not arguing that, but many did follow up with saying it was not sportsman like conduct. The only ones who felt it was completely right were the black fighters. Margarito's and Ortiz's incidents were ***** moves too, but they were isolated incidents. You can go on youtube and find lots of videos of black dudes sucker punching people and afterwards acting proud of that fact. I am not trying to be racist, just making an observation.
