I've heard it often said that bad decisions turn people off boxing and I always kinda thought, no way, people just want to see good fights and then I heard someone say after a bad decision that he will never pay for a fight again. This got me curious, do bad decisions bother you guys? I mean of course you're not happy about it and you may feel bad about the guy, but I mean they can't really bother you that way, can they? I don't get it, all I want is to see a good fight and what the judges happen to say don't bother me one bit. I might feel bad for a guy if he got robbed, but that's different then how it bothered that guy who said he wasn't gonna pay for fights any more.
so, what you are saying is, you only watch boxing for entertainment and not for an outcome?? anybody would be bothered if they follow a boxer and that boxer lost by bad decisions, but it happens.....
oh **** jean...just saw you are in providence...im at the complete other end/bottom of the same state
no, i prefer to see robberies especially when i bet on a fight. i want to see a fighter stolen of his dreams after giving blood, sweat and tears in training and within the ring. i think the obvious loser should be awarded the victory in every fight.
Extremely. Think about a father's love for his son. A father lives through his son. If you're a father whose passion is boxing, would you want your son in a sport that robs its hardest workers? I don't think so. You have to caution yourself from falling in love with this sport. It is as brutal as life
the way i see it...anyone who really knows boxing knows that 'bad decisions' are to be expected. for starters....there are 3 judges with 3 totally different perspectives of the fight because they sit on different sides of the ring. press row all sits on one side. they are not all seeing the same action. what we see on tv is definitely different from what they see because we are watching from several angles with little or no interference. add personal bias from refs, commentators, judges and audience and you have a recipe for controversy. it comes with the territory. i would say they get it right more often than wrong. they need to tighten up the procedure and use new technology to eliminate human error and bias. i'd also test judges for sobriety and eye sight prior to matches...especially big title matches. anyone who would stop watching boxing because of one bad decision is not really a boxing fan imo.
Been watching boxing for almost thirty years. I've learned to laugh at bad judges decisions .... but bull**** premature stoppages still **** me off, because they can completely ruin the fight, and they tarnish a fighter's record more. Also, the premature stoppages have become far more prevalent and worse, especially here in the UK.
