Do boxers deserve to get payed as much as they get now?

    MMA fighters also fight for money bro. All of them. Would they fight for free? hell no. If they would have the popularity of mayweather or pacquaio do you think they'd agree to be paid less? To me bro, they are paid less because that's the only money generated by the crowd or stipulated in their contracts. Giving them purse above the generated revenue would not be justice either don't you think?

    No. I think there is a lot money generated through ufc fights. Crows is ALWAYS HUGE. im sure they getting similar stuff like ppv because people like me would like to see that entertainment

    Yes I always see the crowd huge at the arena. As of the PPV, i have no idea. If that's the case, then the problem is in the hand of the handlers or the promoters of the fight. I don't seem to connect that to boxing. People at the MMA should be blamed whatsoever. It seems to be an internal problem in the UFC but as said by the posters above, no one seems to complain right?

    You are right that they should be paid more but don't blame the boxers for what they get. Different management, different issues my friend.

    Yeah and remember small change that the UFC signs guys to long term contracts. So some of the money for that PPV isn't even being spent on only the fighters there that night.

    League versus independent. Do you go for the support of the group (UFC) or do you become a lone wolf (Boxing). To the victor go the spoils. A group has more to divide the spoils among.

    Berto didn't deserve 1.25 million for that Hernandez blow out. Still, 90 of boxers get paid crap to fill out an undercard where they get little prep time to get beat by the house favorite. In that respect, boxing and MMA have something in common.

    Nah asswipe . . . you should ****i'n know that the fighters, promoters and the networks negotiate before a boxing fight happens. And ultimately it is the fighter and his team who decides whether they're getting enough or not. If they're not happy then fights don't happen.

    . . . and all these are based on what?

    MARKETABILITY of the fighters . . . as in the ability of the fighters to sell out tickets to fill out the whole venue.

    Who decides in boxing who gets what? :lol:
