Do boxers have to wear the same brand and type of gloves in a fight?

    There is no rule stating that they have to wear the same brand.

    unless the brand pays promoters to use their gloves e.g golden boy promotions is sponsored by reyes, everyone in a golden boy event must wear reyes.

    calzaghe will have it in his contract i beleive to wear grant gloves v hopkins and that is a goldenboy event.

    he was very happy with them in the kessler fight and with his hands will be desperate to make sure he gets them.

    didnt floyd wear grant in the hatton fight, and that was gb.

    yeah he did but he would have to pay a little cash or something like that, this is what frank maloney told me when i met him at my gym, i asked him why do all of khans oponents have to wear the same gloves as him (usually bbe or reebok)

    they dont have to be the same brand but they normally always are

    In the first Holyfield Lewis fight it was the first heavyweight world title fight to have the 2 guys wearing different brand gloves.
    When Frazier and Foreman fought the 2nd time Frazier wore 8 ounce gloves and Foreman 8 and a half ounce gloves.
