Do "British stoppages" by UK referees tend to favor the UK fighter?

That was a ridiculously early stoppage by Mark Bates today. It wasn't like Babic was taking a sustained beating.

Would that referee have stopped the fight when Fury was out in round 9 against Usyk? Probably not, since the "British stoppages" always seem to favor the UK fighter.

Not this time. Babic was done. He looked completely drunk after the knockdown

Babic was getting knocked out badly if that had carried on, he saved years from his life potentially, I also believe it’s time for Babic to retire, he was an entertaining fighter, but clearly those hard spars have took its toll on his chin and that’s always a sign to retire when you’re getting hurt noticeably more often.

Yeah totally bogus stoppage. They should have the fight go to its natural conclusion.

It had been concluded, Babic could hardly stand.

If Babic was in the same condition in the 9th round and the ref allowed Fisher to put Babic in hospital then there would be outrage at such a lack of judgement. Instead Babic was in that condition in the 23rd second and the ref made the right call.

That particular stoppage wasnt bad at all honestly. Babics legs were gone already. He would have almost certainly gotten blitzed and put down for good within 20 seconds based on how he looked.

I swear some people on here wouldn't be satisfied unless a boxer was knocked unconscious. Babic was staggering around - you can't do that and expect to carry on.

Horrible stoppage if you have an intense dislike for Babic and would like to see him hospitalised.

Some of you lot are weird..Babic was done.

The Babic stoppage was the correct one he got up wobbling and didn't know where he was I don't know what else you expect to happen ? The referee did the right thing.

Babic was stumbling all over the place, had bleary eyes, and didn’t have a clue where he was after getting dropped hard by a guy with bricks for hands. He might have lasted another half a minute at the expense of a few years off of his life. The ref was fully justified in stopping that fight.

For those criticising the stoppage i say well sod it, let us return to The London Prize Rules era, and you have 30 seconds to come up to the scratch line after a fighter has been put to the deck.

Now if Babic had stayed down for longer and took more of the count he might have risen on steadier legs, however he did not, and was staggering around worse than Fury after a Morecambe beer session.

Not going to criticise the ref for that stoppage.

Last night's stoppage was spot on
When a man is doing the funky chicken it's time to stop the fight
