Life energy, also known as "chi" or "qi" has been a subject of much debate and controversy.

After the passing of his father, his loss to Mayweather, followed by his loss to Trout, Cotto seemed depressed and fed up with boxing. Any man would of retired from the sport with the millions Cotto has earned, yet he didn't. Something happened to him that gave him a new outlook in life, it changed his attitude and demeanor drastically.

For centuries, men in the Eastern part of the globe have found nirvana and enlightenment after bad experiences or tragedies that have occurred some time in their lives. These men are known as Buddhist monks, or Bhikkhu for short. A monk is usually depicted as having a bald head with a perfect natural physique. We've seen countless super human acts performed by these monks, such as a man pulling a 2 ton truck with nothing but his genitalia. These feats are performed when one has mastered their life energy force and are able to surpass their normal human potential.

In a fight where everyone expected him to win, Sergio "Marvilla" Martinez(former Middleweight champion of the world) has claimed that Cotto caught him "cold" with a left hook and he never recovered. We've all seen it with our own eyes. A single "punch" was able to cause that much damage against a much bigger and more primed man. Now how is that?

This brings me back to my original point. Was Martinez lying, or do energy punches really exist in boxing and is Cotto a monk? :think

all punches are from energy, since everyone gets energy from the calories they consume and the air they breathe.

Absolutely. Just look at Mr. Ray Edwards, NFL defensive end, who mastered this technique in his short boxing stint.

That was no chi, that was simply a punch from the man with the strongest punch in the world. If Wilder became a monk, find enlightenment and mastered his life energy, he'd be a literal God.. :deal

Martinez on the other hand claimed he felt something strange. The impact of that one particular punch was so great that it broke Martinez's knee's and shook his whole body.

I've never seen someone harness their life energy like Cotto has. It's simply a thing to behold.

None of them are masters of the "chi" punch. Cotto seems to be the only one who has mastered this.

What does this have to do with Cotton's destruction of the MW champion of the world?

Martinez felt Cotton's chi circulating through his body. It was an incredible force which blew Martinez's knees, he even said so himself.

Add to the fact that Cotton threw a 3 hit combination consisting of a headbutt, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head all in less than one second.. it's not out of the realm to envision that Cotton has found enlightenment and is now a "super" human. He has opened his third eye and has finally found peace within himself.

I've never seen anything like that before, especially in high level baaxing.

I heard that Cotto did have a stay at a Shaolin temple shortly before he hooked up with Roach, it's very possible that he learned this sacred techniques during his tenure there.
