Do fans hate Boxers for what they do outside the ring?

Not me, in general

 

Yea I admit it, I dont like arrogant assholes in any walk of life, and dont care how good they are at what they do. In general, the idea that as long as a person is good at something, you shouldnt care about their moral charachter, its flawed at the core.

But hey, thats just me. :good

 

I don't like fighters for what they do outside of the ring. Even in other sports, this holds true. Look at Barry Bonds and Michael Vick.

 

Exactly. OJ, Vick, Bonds, Ray Lewis, I dont like any of them.

 

I don't like OJ, Ray Lewis, or Vick, but I'll admit it, I've been a Bonds fan for over 15 years

A lot of my favorite fighters are either scumbags outside the ring or at least did some very terrible things.

 

I don't know - I think like Ray Lewis, OJ, and Vick did worse things than Bonds outside of their respective sport.

 

I don't disrespect what they could do in their sport, but I don't have to like them as a person.

If I see my doctor hit his wife, I don't care if he can cure cancer, I'll think he is a piece of ****. I will still respect his medical prowess....

Same concept here. A boxer can be respected for his fighting ability and be hated for what he does outside the ring.

 

You know what I believe. I believe that people who post this question that your posting are inevitably fans of ******* fighters and this is their way of defending them (see Mayweather fans).

The reason I believe this is simple....

If you have absolutely no regard for what a fighter does outside of the ring in their personal life, why in the hell do you care what I think about fighters in my own personal life?
