This is what I wonder about Khan.

Is his Chin that bad. Or is it because he doesn't protect is.

Take the Garcia Shot as an example. Not many fighters could have got up from that shot. The same shot ko'd iron chinned morales, and that punch was in the 11th round so probably not as hard.

Some fighters again, lets use Garcia as an example, appear to have a good chin. He took a lot of shots from Khan, but they weren't shots on the button. The chin was always protected.

He doesn't protect it. People on this forum, and boxing fans in general, are naive and quick to change their opinions.

Post Maidana "Oh, he's got an iron chin"

He took clean shots time and time again in the Maidana fight and only when he tired did he get caught with a right hook he never saw coming was he then hurt. So what about Judah and Peterson? Both of them caught Khan with shots and he never folded.

If anyone knew anything about Garcia, is that he's got a huge left hook, but people are too lazy to actually do their research and watch his fights. Morales may be old, but how many people have put him down?

Ask Kendall Holt how hard his left hook is. Amir relentlessly jumped in and got caught with a left hook which was turned perfectly right where it hurts and he still got up. What people didn't then notice was how he continuously took about 6 left/right hooks but didn't fold on them. Why? Because he saw them, it was just that the first left which put him down took him out way too far that he wasn't able to make a return.

I'm still a strong believer that his chin is fine (although I do believe his resistance is suspect), it's just his damn inability to see shots and how he makes himself a prone target to them.

Perfect analysis. I especially think he has a terrible ability to see shots coming. He's very quick but i think his reflexes are just average.

Chin is something you either have or not. Khan chin is not good but it's not that bad also. Khan has a pleasing style that attract alot of fans but if he fights to protect his chin then he's going to look a bit more boring.

glass chin. simple as that. you've seen how badly he was wobbling when garcia hit him. sure, others would have gone down from that, but those with decent chin woulda stood up and recovered well.

even against maidana, khan looked like a limp noodle for almost 2 rounds. that's from a single shot at that and he never really recovered.

even juanma lopez who got tagged time and again cleanly by hard shots from salido looked a little more solid than khan.

That same shot KO's Morales. DOes Morales have a bad chin?

  11. it knocked morales down, not out. morales recovered well. the shot that hurt morales was right on the chin. to make a long story short, amir's chin isnt very good. that much is obvious. prescott hurt him with a jab. A JAB.

    Bit of both.

Peterson wobbled him in the 4th though showing his chin ain't too great.

Your question really boils down to "do glass jaws exist in boxing and, if so, is it irrefutable?"

I don't think anyone here is qualified to answer.
