Selling out in the UK doesn't mean anything, you have to sell out in the big leagues, UK is the minor leagues. Anyways I'd expect him to sell maybe 4-8k if he fought Rodriguez in the US, and the views to be less than what Ward did.

Froch and his team have said that Ward isn't the best option for them financially. Ward has said the same thing about Froch. If we take the fighters at their word then it is time for everyone to move on. It sucks since we'd all like a rematch as they have further proven to be the top two at 168 since their first fight but it is what it is. Both trying to play tough to get the upper hand in a potential negotiation but in reality both are just crushing what small chances of a rematch there ever was after the one sided nature of Ward/Froch.

    This is true.

Just make sure you don't hold your breath for Ward to actually find an opponent who's willing to accept an unwinnable fight in an empty Oakland arena for almost no compensation with no belts on the line.

Last I heard he wanted to be in the ring by April. That's not looking so good.

    "unwinnable???"

I think highly of Ward, but I don't fancy him quite the unbeatable God that you apparently do.

As for "no belts on the line," that is likely incorrect. Ward should still be the 168 pound lineal champion, thus having the one belt that matters more than the others, as long as the fight is announced or happens sometime in the next couple months.

He's obviously still the lineal champ until he loses it in the ring, but that isn't a belt and doesn't mean much to anyone besides people who are hardcore fans.

Who do you give a better than average chance of beating Ward in Oakland?

I'm thinking Andre Dirrell (won't happen), George Groves (won't happen), and James Degale (won't happen). For some reason Ward likes to talk about GGG but not fight him, and he's opposed to fighting anyone at 175.

I think he can be beaten but not by anyone who has a semi-realistic chance of landing a fight with him.

Yes because when a fighter you beat beats another fighter it counts as your win. Ward didn't clean out SMW he ducked Bute. Froch beat Bute not Ward. That's like saying Calzaghe is still winning fights at LHW because Hopkins is still fighting at LHW. Also don't act like Ward-Bute wouldn't have had been a good fight style wise.

This is logical especially because he beat Froch with 1 hand. Go work for Ward!

Ward has actually been stripped from the Ring belt, so the only belt he has now is the WBA Super title.

As for Froch/Ward, neither guy should be able to fully dictate all the terms imo, but if they were to fight, it sounds about right to have the rematch in Froch's country (but probably not his hometown though).

Will Ward ever actually fight anybody?

**** me, must have been years since that boy laced up a pair. He wasting his talent.

He's got Frochs number, but nobody cares, because Frochs is exciting and Ward is semi retired.

How do you think he did that?
What top undefeated fighters has Ward beaten?
What top prime fighters has Ward beaten?

Ward beat Kessler, who beat Froch, who beat Bute, but Ward didnt fight any when undefeated

I think he was awarded points in the S6 when one of his fights fell through. Froch had to fight a replacement.

It's pretty clear Froch and Hearn don't want to fight as Ward would win again easily and most likely stop Froch who is declining.

I think you're on to something here. Andre Ward is surrounded by an industry who understands what makes money and what does not. But Ward insists on having everything his own way. He won't fight tuneups for resonable amount of cash, he won't fight top challengers in his own weight class like Lucian Bute, Andre Dirrell and Anthony Dirrell. He won't move up to LHW and make some noise in a matchup against Kovalev or Stevenson. He won't build his career step by step and waiting for the big money to come along the road, like Joe Calzaghe (46-0) did. He won't travel.

Ward is just a long list of "wont's". And he's not that fun to watch either. So for the industry, he's a waste of space. If Ward and Froch agrees to fight each other, at least one noteable fight gets done. If they don't, Ward is stripped of his title and can keep beeing The Special One on his own, while people in the business can turn their attention to fighters who is more game.
