You look at Quillin and Stevenson and just laugh. It's really an unbelievable phenomenon. Quillin is definitely the worst of them all, he won't fight anybody and is online all of the time bragging about his "good business" decisions. How can we even legitimately rank him at Middleweight?
don't worry the rin magazine will keep Quillen ranked at 2nd even if he fights hobos for the rest of his career
I don't even believe you're a floydette anymore. You're just a troll account to make Floyd fans look ignorant and stupid.
Depends on the fighter. Some of the guys in his stable will fight whoever they are matched with. Rico Ramos stepped in with Rigondeaux right after struggling with that Japanese guy he dispatched by comback KO. A guy like Quillin is laughable though.
There is a pattern of bypassing the first or second and taking the tenth, and sometimes lower, most dangerous fighter in their division for an opponent. Mayweather, Stevenson, Quillin, Garcia, Broner, Thurman, Wilder, Santa Cruz, Dirrell, and Chavez Jr. have all done this. But Porter did just fight and lose to Brook. Trout lost back to back against Lara and Alvarez. Lara fought Alvarez. Gary Russell Jr fought Lomachenko and lost. Chris Arreola fought Bermane Stiverne and lost both times. Danny Garcia used to fight guys like Matthysse and Khan, just not last year. Mares used to take hard fights before getting sparked in 1. Maidana fought Broner and Mayweather. Khan just beat Alexander. So you can find counter examples. It's just kind of shocking how many of his fighters don't fight good opposition. I have to agree with Jim Lampley that Haymon is the single greatest negative force in the sport today.
In 2014, not really, but Haymon was putting on a ton of great fights in 2013. Haymon made Goldenboy and Showtime a big time player in 2013. They were rapidly closing the gap on HBO. Everybody was in love with the Showtime cards and it made for a great year in boxing. The main supplier was Al Haymon. Hopefully something gets ironed out soon, whether they are put on NBC or Showtime or somewhere else. I can't help but think some of this has to do with the departure of Shaefer In 2013.... Al Haymon was great for boxing In 2014.... Al Haymon was horrible for boxing We know he has some moves up his sleeve, hopefully they come to fruition sooner rather than later.
Mayweather Canelo Garcia Matthyse Peterson Matthyse Maidana Broner Figeuroa Arakawa Thurman Chavez Thats off the top of my head. Considering he didnt have a 1/4 of the fighters he has now. Thats not bad.
Which part of "Considering he didnt have a 1/4 of the fighters he has now" didnt you understand? The vast majority of the guys he manages jumped on board in the past year
