I'm still puzzled bout that as well, but I think he's gained enough information from the case to know that he can beat it or get it pushed out the way to not affect his fight.
Rumor was Floyd was actually suppose to come back late 2010, but that was before the legal mess.

I love the rationalizations *****s come up with to prevent them admitting he may not want to face a particular fighter. That's a pretty obtuse excuse you've come up with there, I admire your creativity. Seeing as he said he's wasn't actually interested in fighting, and not, I have legal issues therefore I can't fight, it makes your wild theory seem pretty ridiculous.

Anyways, the only thing I like discussing about Floyd is what he does in the ring. This *******/***** talk bores me. So you can carry on thinking he'll fight anyone at anytime and I'll have my opinion that he weighs up the risk reward ratio and turns his back on it if it doesn't suit him.

Don't worry man. He said he's going to stay active, so after Ortiz is either Pacquiao, Williams or Martinez. I'll take lifetime ban on that **** :deal

And it began. Count how many times Floyd uses Pac name to hype his fight. :patsch

this sure is a selective post. The same way Pac, his team and promoter use Mayweather's name in their fight promos. its just smart business. its obvious this is something you lack(smarts)!

I taught he was just trying to sell himself, the bad guy persona, being a smart businessman.

In that case, it's not about the length of inactivity after all, as you initially reasoned out. It's all about the size of the probable opponent for that matter then.

In other words, between Martinez and Ortiz, Ortiz is not the better choice, as you said earlier, but by sheer size alone, he is the safer choice.

Ortiz is still bigger than Floyd, but yes he's safer than Martinez and he's good enough to the point where he's a good tune up, but also very dangerous.

The thing is nobody asked him about Pacquiao. Floyd chose to bring up his name during a press conference that has absolutely nothing to do with Pac. This says a lot. Floyd could've easily said some non-conclusive bull**** like, "I'll fight anyone. I'm willing to fight whoever is willing to step up." Instead he specifically targeted Pac. On the flip side, has Pac ever done this to Floyd? Pac is always saying he'll fight whomever his promoter puts him in the ring with or anyone who campaigns at 140-150 lbs (whatever that means).

Let's just hope then that Floyd remains interested in fighting Martinez, to say the least (Pacquiao is obviously still the preferred opponent), after his bout with Ortiz. :good
