Do Jones and Tito deserve a 24/7 series?

I think It would be a really cool one actually, how both used to dominate and then finally fell.... Besides they would probably have some cool highlights of both fighters when they were in their primes, and that is always fun to watch.

 

Oh crap I was thinking countdown, but wouldn't mind seeing a 24/7, but Roy is my favorite fighter though.

 

Would help bring in new fans so why not. Would be quie entertaining too and if Jones or Tito gets KTFO, fans may come back for more

HBO should run a 24/7 just for appreciation of what these two world class greats brought the sport of boxing.

 

with all due respect to their primes . . .they are both "has beens" and this seniors tour should not be showcased by boxing - its bad for the sport especially since RJJ will likely run from Tito for 12 rounds.

 

I don't care. I'm watching the fight anyway.

 

This would be a GREAT 24/7 IMO, both of these fighters are total characters.

In addition, it would be VERY interesting to see what they've been up to in recent years (besides being knocked out/shut out), both fighters are alike in that they went from domination to obscurity relatively quickly, it'd be nice to see how they've been doing.

I like 24/7's though.

 

How in earth would it be "bad for the sport"?? Jones Jr and Trinidad never done any harm to the sport at all. Yes there both past there primes but its an intriguing match up that alot of people are going to like to see. I seriously doubt Jones is going to run from Tito for 12 rounds. I dont ever recall Jones running from anybody and Jones has never been classified as a "runner" and he's been in there with guys with alot more power and that are much bigger than Tito

 

It would be nice for HBO to give both fading legends a series as a tribute to them.

Both fighters have done a lot for HBO and it wouldn't be a bad idea for HBO to reciprocate. Of course, HBO is a network that is all about the bottom line and will allow these two fighters' name value to carry the fight and not put much else behind them.

 

WOW. RJJ never ran?!?!?!- I think even he would admit it was part of his gameplan against the big punchers.

If you think hyping up this "has been" fight like its gonna be Cotto-Shane or Cal-Kessler then watching it fall flat on its face is good for boxing, then God bless.

BTW I got no problem with the fight, but over hyping undeserving "superfights" and likely bad style matchups cannot be good for the sport.

 

Hold on there killer, I never said HBO had to promote the fight to be the mega fight of the year, like I said HBO should run one just because of all that these two have done for the sport, I dont think they should hype it up like crazy just pay respects, and please name the fighter/or fighters that RJJ ran from cause not 1 time have I ever seen Roy "run" excessivly, I mean hell how did he run from anybody when he DOMINATED for 10+ years, the only time I would even consider that RJJ avoided exchanges was the 3rd Tarver fight.

 

a 24/7 series should only be for the biggest most meaningful fights in boxing - CAL-Kessler deserved it much mor than Hops-Tito.
