Do Lewis' win over Tyson and Calzaghe's over RJJ hold any credibility?

    Bailey,

I said that Joe's win wasn't credible, and I gave you the reasons why.

I never addressed the rest of your post.

But what has hypothetical scenarios involving Joe and Lewis coming out of retirement to fight Ward and Wilder have to do with anything?

I read parts of the first 3p, enough to see what's going on.

You get posters making loony claims that Tyson was 50%, Jones was 30% when they fought LL & JC. Then what about the clowns on here that were saying that if Tyson got serious he could "clean out" the HW div. almost up to his pitiful loss to McBride? :patsch

B Douglas beat a young Tyson, but LL doesn't to many in this thread :nut
LL is a bit older than MT but Tyson huggers always pull out the Mike was past his prime :| If MTs "magical" prime was so short then he wasn't as great as you think he was :deal
An earlier LL V MT bout would give Tyson an outside chance but Lewis beats Tyson at any age. Seriously some on here are in such denial that the HW torch has long passed away from the US :-(
    * * * * *
An earlier JC v RJ would be competitive, could go either way and giving the edge to RJ is reasonable. However many fans always underestimated JC.

Jones is a Glass Jawed Fraud shows why he avoided all those big fights.

I'm being deadly serious when I said he's the biggest weirdo I've ever encountered on here and every other forum I've spent time on. He's seriously mentally disturbed. He's not happy unless he's making others feel bad and sucking them into his misery. The fact that he gets his kicks from trying to **** total strangers off on forums is disturbing enough, and you can see how hard he tries to do that, but the amount of time he devotes to doing so just pushes the weirdo and disturbing factor to a whole other level. It's an absolute obsession for him.

The guy's a sociopath. Even the posters that are not in his line of fire have got to realize how much of a deranged weirdo he is. The best advice is to just completely ignore him. He wants a reaction. That's what he thrives off. Putting him on ignore is the best thing to do. Do not feed the trolls as it were. That's the only solution to dealing with his kind :good

    good luck with that then.

Its all good - its better that if you cant answer, then you don't try.

Tyson was like 10 to 12 years past his best. Jones wasn't that far gone.

That isn't really the question though. Were they still decent wins that are just overlooked because they were against opponents past their peak? Or were they just easy wins against washed up opponents?

Only you would come out utter bollocks like that.

I guess Dnany Green is better than Calzaghe and Danny Williams is better than Lewis?

After all, they produced much better results against the same guys

Tysons sparring partner knocked out Lewis, so according to your logic, Tyson could do it too?

Lewis is ONE year older than Tyson. Hardly the difference you're trying to make.

Does it really have to be pointed out to you that Tyson was 14 years past his peak when he fought Lewis, who was only a couple of years removed from his peak?

If you actually knew boxing history you'd see that one guy peaked in 86-88 and the other peaked around a decade later.

Neither is particularly credible in my book, but not without value altogether. Although Lewis' win over Tyson is somewhat more credible.

I guess it should be mentioned, and I'm sure it has been, that neither Lewis nor Calzaghe were prime either. Although neither was as nearly done for, nor as far away from their best days and performances as the opponent.
