Do lopez fans honestly still think he can beat Gamboa?

i see what you are saying, im not saying that juanma has a good chin, he can be hurt but he stood in there and ate all of the flush shots that rafeal marquez landed. gambao has been put down by fighters with a looooow ko ratio,

mtawa is not an ko artist but i believe that was a result of exhaustion

I think it will be a good fight. Gamboa is good and super fast, but he still has some flaws that he needs to work on. He gets too reckless at times, and this can be exploited.

After two warnings about hitting in the back of the head, when he hurt Solis he reverted back to throwing wildly and hitting the back of the head.

both have leaky defenses + both have ko power= someone's "0" is gonna go by knockout:deal

I will point out that Gamboa is a little too eager to finish his opponents and though he throws compact punches overall, when his opponent is hurt he tends to get a bit wild. Lopez is still dangerous even when hurt and can catch Gamboa. This isn't going the distance and I wouldn't bet vcash on a winner but I will bet that this will be an exciting fight. It has to be. Both guys come to fight and pack big power.

I think Juanma was drained in that fight. He went up to 126 after that fight cuz he couldnt make weight anymore.

Only the deluded would completely write JM off. This is as close to 50-50 as you can get.

But understand that Gamboa's knockdowns didnt really have to do with their opponents power, hell i could of done it, it was a result of balance, being all over the place and as you said his not so good defense at the time. I believe last night he showed a nice defense, which relied on his legs more than his arms.

I think Gamboa's best chance is in the later rounds, Juanma always seems to get more and more wilder as the fight progresses and seems to get tired because of it, that's where Gamboa can come in and knock him out.

I really like both fighters. Probably my two favorite younger Champs. I have always liked Gamboa a bit more. However, of course Lopez CAN beat him. My money would be on Gamboa and I think Gamboa wins that fight. However, to say Lopez has no chance is silly. Lopez can time and counterpunch, and Gamboa does leave himself open, relying on his speed to get him out of trouble. This could cost him against a guy like Lopez.

However, like I said... I think Gamboa takes him.

Gamboa's knockdowns happened when he tried to force a counterpunch that wasn't there. Gamboa gets cocky and relies on his speed too much somtimes, and he got hit while throwing a punch, with his hands down, and not expecting to get hit.... If he does that against Lopez, he is going to wake up on a strecher :dead
