Do Mexicans dislike Sergio Martinez? Based on Style or Race?

I ain't Mexican. And I think dislike is a bit hard. But if you asked me of my opinion of Martinez it would be a simple answer " Over-rated " the guy has fought 2 decent opponents in his career Williams who he had allready lost to, and Pavlik who was not in the right place mentaly and had issues with alcohol. You take those 2 names away and his resume is DIRE.

its always a race issue no matter what anyone says its more then likely because of the race and because he's fighting chavez jr.

 

I don't see why they would. And that Mexican-only-come-forward thing looks like a myth to me. Marquez, Sanchez, Finito Lopez, Canto, Chavez, they got so many technicians, I'm sure true fans appreciate maravilla. and I'll never understand the passion behind soccer.

Just got back from Mexico City 3 weeks ago. Nothing but love for Martinez from the guys at the gym. As a matter of fact most of the boxers I talked down there who are boxing fans want Martinez to win. I would say the ratio was 6 out of 10. Side note...more Argentinians choose to immigrate to Mexico than any other country. The two counties are definetly closer than you'd think.
