Yeah I wondered about that also. Because I knoe having tghe fight in the movies. Takes away from ppv sales.
Which theaters have the fight? is it in every theater? How much is the fight? Either way it's $50 I don't have.
Search for theaters here: http://www.fathomevents.com/Sports/event/Mayweather_vs_Mosley.aspx Prices around my house have ranged from $10-25. Good luck.
Yeah. I mentioned this in another thread, never found out if anyone knows. I was under the impression that when a bar, for example, shows the fight that the bar is responsible for the PPV sale times the max capacity for the bar. So if the bar held 100 people, they'd be responsible for 100x the PPV cost (say $550), is that correct? If so, are they doing movie theatres the same way? That would be a lotta cash, and a quick way to hit that ridiculous 4m PPV buys they were talking about the other day...
I don't know really, though I think number of TVs in the bar counts towards the price because the bar could be the size of a football stadium but only 1 12 inch television won't get many fans in there.
Rui (Nutley, NJ) Do you know if the movie ticket sales for Mayweather/Mosley affect the final PPV numbers? Dan Rafael (1:35 PM) They have nothing to do with each other. The movie money is considered closed circuit revenue.
I doubt the CC $ detracts in a big way from the PPV #s. Not very many people (compared to typical PPV audiences) reported going to Mayweather-Marquez, and there should be some more for this but it isn't like there's a huge advertising campaign behind it to rope in the casuals.
