Well stop paying for it and see what happens to boxing. What do you think will happen?

    Bbc no interest in boxing.
    Sky sports budgets tiny.
Do away with dazn. A ppv platform.

    Channel 5 tiny budget.

We,ll give whyte 100,000 for fighting povetkin.

Less than a weeks wages for james mklner sitting on thr bench.

Form an orderly que to sign up knowing a guy top ten...ish in the world gets less than a weeks wages for some young footballers.

When it pays to be crap.

Molina seems to get wheeled out for most of Matchroom's prospects these days. Joshua, in a world title fight (ffs), Hrgovic and now Wardley.

Isn't he a maths teacher? He knows what he's doing. His best win is a 40 year old Adamek. His next best win is probably Raphael Zumbano or someone like that.

I am not sure. I would imagine that it is a good excuse to get more time in between fights (for whatever reason), good excuse and a brilliant way to rattle Whyte.

What do I think will happen ?
I dunno, I think the fighters will fight for the best available offer. I can name dozen heavyweights who fought on non-PPV in recent years, several times, tough fights too. They didn't just pack up and retire because they weren't on PPV. Like I said, Pulev was on Channel 5 fighting an IBF eliminator for Joshua's title. Just one example.
What do YOU think will happen ?

What a football club decides to play one player is irrelevant to this discussion. It's a completely different structure.

@bbjc comes back with a wild overhead right cheered on by his sidekick on the thread @Little brian but fails to connect.

@Unforgiven takes the round off but still wins the round by doing nothing.

I think people look at it and start thinking i can make maximum 100,000 a fight...by getting knocked about by the best fighters in the world...losing brain cells on the way. Tough training camps. Thats only if i make it near the top level...or i can try my hand at football making 200,000 a week.

You realise how many guys fall away from boxing because its a hard hard sport. We,re talking about the guys that stuck it out becoming a success story taking beatings along the way getting a 100,000. Tbh sky sports wouldnt pay that anyway. There not gonna spend 100,000 on whyte...100,000 on povetkin. Would need to be nearer 200,000 each before tax and training camps etc. Then the price of production etc...marketing. probably looking at 4 or 5 hundred thousand to make a whyte v povetkin fight...paying whyte and povetkin 100,000 each into their bank.

Your now looking at giving them 50,000 each in their bank instead. So your fighting two or three times a year against top ten/15 guys in the whole world...to make it worthwhile. Losing brain cells. Getting the stuffing knocked out of you against 18 stone guys. You,d have to be at the end of your boxing career after losing your brain cells to sign up for that.

Bearing in mind early in their careers most boxers struggle to make ends meat. Lets take whyte as an example....till he fought joshua...he made peanuts. So for the first five years or so he made nothing to save for the future. Lets say with joshua and the next ten fights he makes 50,000. Ten fights of getting punched in the face from 18 stone guys top ten fighters with 3 months training camps behind them. Hes amassed 500,000. Thats the best case scenario with a guy like whyte taking on all comers. But what happens if hes seriously injured or unable to work after he retires. That money wont last all that long i bet.

Even just watching chisora sparring jennings. Jennings thought of as a soft puncher. Tell me there not losing brain cells in that ring.

One of the toughest sports in the world and even if you make it to top ten level out of the whole world....taking on the best of the best...you,ll be lucky to come out of it well. Everyone else below that level loses. Not sure many people are willing to take them sort of risks.

I think you,ve got inexperienced people that think its all easy. Whytes just a fat pudding. They should actually take a regular guy down the gym with them to see how hard these guys train and show them the sort of damsge they csn inflict in a minute....to give people the reality of how difficult it iz to beckme a top ten fighter. Maybe then they,d stop begrudging 20 quid for a good nights entertainment.

A discussion can only progress if one side addresses points that the other side has put forward.

You are ignoring what everybody else is saying and playing word salad by regurgitating the same things you've already said.

Put your main points up again if you would bud i,ll address them. Busy looking after a toddler atm might be missing some of the points.

But looking at what i just wrote are you happy whyte a top ten in the world heavyweight getting 50,000 a fight at top ten level. And everyone below that level or that weight getting say 20,000 a fight. What about top 20 level. Or top 30. How much do you get when you become the 20th best fighter in the whole world per fight?

They would have brought in a lot more than 4.4 million just from PPV sales mate :

    Tickets
Advertising between rounds and throughout the event
    Advertising boards around the ring
Selling the rights to broadcasters worldwide would have brought in a lot too

Maybe you need to ask yourself were this argument that certain fights have to be on PPV otherwise there's no way everyone can be paid and all the costs can be covered ??? I'll give you a clue - It came from an individual with the initials EH.

So anyone that doesn't see the value in paying an extra score for a fight that shouldn't even be happening is a tramp and/or dosser? It's not an Internet forum its a boxing forum, where do you suggest people voice their opinion on boxing seeing as apparently only a tramp would do so on a boxing forum?
