I do wonder what the split is, I really hope Sasha is being payed fairly for the fight and in fight 1 they didn't make 75-25 in favour of Whyte in both the First fight and the rematch but it is Matchroom so it also wouldn't surprise me.

Hearn uses the Don King approach and uses other peoples money. He doesn't invest to grow the sport of boxing.

Can you actually back that up? A few posts ago you were saying how there's barley enough money from PPV for all parties to make alot, now Hearn is taking that and investing it in boxing!

I m not sure how you,d take from that post eddies doing it because he cares. Eddies doing it because hes a businessman. I m amazed that people expect him to do it for anything other than making money.

What i m saying is hes putting money back into the sport marketing it to make more money from it. What any good businessman would do.

Good luck to him i say. Guy works hard and more importantly as a boxing fan thats been starved for years of consistant ly good fights i now have the choice to watch consistantly good fights at a price.

The other option is not having the choice to watch consistantly good fights. Waiting forever to see any sort of decent level fighter against similar opposition.

As a boxing fan i,d rather have that choice than no choice. If eddie makes millions along the way...good luck to the fella. As a fan of boxing thats not really my concern.

Hes got a budget for advertising the fight. Thats what i mean. Hes investing some of the money to make the fight bigger. Look at sky sports this week...whyte v povetkin programmes been on all week. Campbell hattons been promoted. Seen about 3 or 4 different documentaries on him. Theres a good budget for marketing these fights. Weather thats on youtube or skysports someones got to pay for it. Big Press conferences. Big events. Someones got to pay for it all.

That ppv moneys allowing him to do it...and in the process starts to grow the market. Otherwise why would anyone spend on marketing.

Without that ppv money...the marketing budget is low. The market stays where it is for mid level to top level fights. Not enough call for them. We,re stuck waiting ages for guys to get to the top level. Boxers used to be stuck fighting 30 fights at low level before taking on decent challenges. Do we want to go back to that again.

That's sky doing that advertising as they make money from it too. They make cheap content and put it on there as they have plenty of air time. Hearn will barley spend anything on that.

Hearn doesn't invest in the sport like you said. If he did then id happily chip in for PPVs.

How much do you think it takes Sky to churn out a Campbell Hatton documentary?

How much do you think it costs to put on a "big press conference"?

It's mad how expensive he thinks these things are to make. Sky have all the resources in house, cameras, editing suites then will have in house crews and freelancers. It's such cheap content to produce for them.

Bang on. And many of the staff are underpaid for what they do, which is ironic.

Either way even if Hearn paid its still not 'investing in the sport'. This guy sounds brainwashed by IFL

Yeah its all free till you have to pay for it.

Just watched the weigh in there....massive stage set up thats not free...barry jones doing the commentary with another commentator. That diamond guy doing the comping. Thats all free tho. The list of people to pay to set up a press conference like thats free i suppose. The venue etc

Same with commentators for the fights. The judges. Refs. Documentaries etc.

Surprised fury v pulev didnt have constant marketing on channel 5 bearing in mind it just costs pennies and the channels usually filled with rubbish about a celebrity on a farm or something like that.

It is investing in the fight which in turn invests in the sport. Its not brainwashing its just going up against guys that are bitter of seeing anyone making good money.

Everyone should be taking home a pittace while i keep my twenty quid in my pocket. Its been done to death. Without ppv no one wants to invest in boxing anymore. I wonder why?

    Anyone got any answers.

    Warren needed a channel.
    Eddie needed ppv.
Hennessay tried his best without a channel...ended up needing to remortgage his house.

What other big time promoters we got...any putting on big shows? No...i wonder why.

One of yous should do it...you can make good money apparently. These guys will fight for peanuts and press conferences etc are free

I asked earlier but no response.

He does come across as selling people a Box Office event and has a vested interest.
