Ever since I saw him weigh 270 something and destroy Monte Barrett with 1 punch at the Wamu recently I am sold that this guy is a prime threat to the Klitschkos, maybe THE prime threat. Hopefully he fights Vitali after he wins by knockout tonight

He'll run over Drumond because Drumond doesn't throw punches.

People aren't saying that he won't run over Drummond because of his weight, it's that his weight will be his downfall when he faces Vitali or Wlad

He's got talent, but it will take more than wins over Barrett or Drummond to make me believe he can be effective against top guys while carrying around all that extra weight.

Once against, he needs to trim down to at least 230.

Undoubtedly. He's going to take out Drummond tonight.

My concern is that he's his own worst enemy coming into fights in that kind of shape and while you can do that with the Drummonds of the boxing world, it's going to catch up with him against better fighters. I don't understand why he can't learn from what Peter and Chambers have gone through before it gets to that point for himself. It took losses and subpar performances for those guys to get the message and drop some weight, but there's nothing stopping Solis from noticing that and making the change before it bites him in the ass. Take a look at the champions now- one thing they all have in common is that they show up in great shape. That's not a coincidence.

I can't see him even dropping down to 245lbs, to be honest with you...

Drummond looks to be in shape for this fight. He weighs ten pounds less than in his recent fiasco against Derrick Rossy. If Drummond can fight up to his true ability level, then this fight will probably go ten rounds, with Solis taking a decision.

If Drummond were fat again, then I'd pick Solis by kayo.

he is not a big puncher, heavy handed but nothing special power wise.

feet stuck in cement means v the klitchko`s he will lose.
v drummond, well thats why the matchmakers made the fight to give solis the W

    That fight sold you? :blood

I was there live (and had bought my ticket in the first place to see Kevin Johnson knock this hypejob out before Vitali spoiled the party). He looked horrible against Barrett, who didn't even show up.

Didn't Drumond have some good moments against Chagaev (one of the four or five best heavyweights in the world at the moment)?

Don't rule out an upset. Solis is waiting to be exposed. Legendary amateur doesn't mean a pro legend in the making. He's coming up bust until he looks good consistently, and looks like he's taking things seriously.
