Because certain 'best minds' have built in biases that prohibit them from seeing the fight honestly. After the 5th round, Calzaghe hit Hopkins with a bunch of sharp left hands; Hopkins was a frustrated and disoriented, got out-thought and out-adapted by Calzaghe, and resorted to feigning low blows and hugging relentlessly to get a rest. Calzaghe won. Get over it.

the fact that it was such a scrappy affair played into b-hops hands i thought because he made calzaghe look so bad and nullified everything that he did (making him miss constantly) he was able to land the telling shots even if they were just in ones or twos and that was the only thing happening for most of the fight and the rounds.

well firstly, calzaghe didn't exactly 'walk through' jones's punches as in simply just plowing forward to land 'big shots' to end the fight. yes, calzaghe appeared unfazed by most of jones's punches (with an emphasis on most), but he was still fighing from a distance and "jumping in" to land shots.

Hopkins didn't "walk through" calzaghes' punches for a couple of reasons - b/c although some of calzaghe's punches are sissy punches, obviously a good deal are not and the guy can do damage (even if he does look awkward doing it). Also, Hopkins is too safety first to walk through anyone's punches. I'm not saying Hopkins could walk through calzaghe's punches, but hopkins should've taken more chances (and so should have jones who although he fought pretty bravely he was still tyring to land without being hit at the end when he should've already realized that wasn't possible).

Case in point, this guy. I'm guessing you're going to say that Holyfield beat Ibragimov, too?

I agree with everything you said except one thing: Pavlik has no business fighting Bernard. Hopkins is in another league and would beat him like his daddy next time too, and the time after that as well.

well fact is b hop beat kelly hands down and i am not takin anything away from him but would i have b hop's attitude i would give him no credit because let's look at the fact's tarver suffered the same faith like roy ironicly after what's ur excuse roy but tarver became a victim of the weight loss ,now kelly had some issues ,and calzaghe was smart to postpone the fight with jones ,but kelly wanted the paycheck, that's hopkins game these days he lured winky and kelly to fight him at that weight for a paycheck winky is desperate for a paycheck,he made a huge mistake not to rematch taylor now he is ending up fighting some no name good career choice !so i give credit to hopkins for beeing smart he seen something and took advantage but he is not giving any respect in loosing if he is that good those 3 fight's never should be that close in the first place!!!!!!!
