No way on earth did Hopkins win that fight! He was going backwards nearly all fight and calzaghe was the agressor and landed more shots thus meaning he won the fight. Hopkins tries to steal fights he has made a career out of ugly fights and trying to do as little as possible to win a fight. It was embarrasing for hopkins trying to get a point deducted off calzaghe for so called low blows. I admit it was an effective tactic he used against calzaghe but it made for a boring fight and he hardly showed any willing to come forward and take the fight to calzaghe.
????? quote me if your referring to my post. it's pretty easy to do (click on "quote"). i already explained that joe only at times punches like a sissy (or looks like one) and he can do damage. i also said that hopkins most likely did "milk" (or exaggerate if you don't know American slang) the low blows (but i saw the punch hit him on the cup w/ my own eyes). hopkins was 'winded' from playing defense too much, but he wasn't in danger of being ko'd he was just trying to stay competitive in rounds where he was tired.
calzaghe will never rematch b hop because he doesn't deserve it the robbed joe of a UD!!!!!!!!they robbed floyd also against DLH of a UD so u see the pattern very simple!!!!!
I can't blame a 43 year old for doing whatever it takes. Be it sportsmanlike or not. Hopkins did what he could. I give him respect for even taking the fight when he's so old.
it isnt really interesting,it just shows that some supposed fans have an agenda and a down syndrome!! hopkins fought prison rules,it was a disgraceful display in a desperate attempt to make it to the end. it still makes me giggle when i see posters saying hopkins won,the same ones probably agree oj simpson was innocent too.
Its absolutely hilarious that some think hopkins won :rofl He held on to joe for dear life all fight, it was a disgraceful way for a ring belt light heavy champion to perform. But Hopkins knew that if he opened the fight up like against pavlik then joe would box his head off
I'm not a Calzaghe hater at all. Just wanted to make that clear, but I agree with most of what San Rafael says above, except for the part about how Bhop made Calzaghe look like a fool. Calzaghe kept the fight close, came on strong, but I have to give the fight to Bhop's accuracy over Calzaghe's workrate. I feel that loss is unjustifiable on Bhop's record.
If your personal scoring criteria is of a certain type, or informal, I can understand why you may feel that way. Professional scoring is based on clean and effective punching; "95% clean and effective punching" to be exact. There were obvious rounds where Hopkins landed the only scoring shots, as well as rounds where Hopkins landed the better scoring shots.
Sure, it's all you. ^ Knock yourself out. Write Dan Rafael, Kevin Iole, and the Associated Press. They think you're in denial as well.
where does it say in boxing scoring criteria thou must go forward to win a fight...you can fight off the back foot and still land effective punches whoever lands the more effective shots wins the rounds its that simple look at any highlight clips of that fight joe wasnt even landing consistently until round 9 when b-hop started to tire
