you always read people on here argueing and counter argueing about catch weights, a recent one ive just read people were sqaubbling over the pac jmm catch weight, in all likelyhood when then rehydrate they will be within a few pounds of eachother come fight night

surely this cannot make too much difference to the final outcome?

in almost all heavyweight fights klitchkso outweighs his oppenents by a substantial ammount, recently outweighting haye by more than 20lbs, not many people mention this at all, no1 expects klit to come down to hayes weight or haye to bulk up to meet klit, obv because heavyweights have no limit they usually come in at a weight they feel most comfortable/ powerful etc at.

If their is a catchweight aslong as they come in at their preffered most comfortable weight whats the big deal?

surely at the end of the day boxers skills and styles are the biggest factors and a few pounds here and there doesnt make as much difference as people go on and on and on and on about. My arguement isnt intended to defend pacs decision to catchweight jmm or excuse hayes poor performance against klitchko but is applicable to all fights

do people make much more of an issue about weight than they should??

yep just relised that glaring mistake haha i realise it matters but not to the extent people talk about surely
do you think thats why historically the heavyweight division carries the most intrique because you can get these mismatches in size and weight?

in the grand scheme of things no they dont they just fuel the fire to the bickering on sites like this.

a few lbs here or there dont really matter IMO but there will always be people moaning about weight issues

u are right haye came in at his most comfortable weight vs wlad. i think JMM came in far too heavy vs floyd and he will come in about 142 for his fight vs manny

wont make a difference tho as pac will destroy JMM within 6

I agree completely. In the case of Pac-JMM III, people are indeed making too much of an issue with the weights. Like you say, on fight night, they're only going to be approximately 3 pounds apart.

No it doesnt matter at all thats why Pac doesnt want to fight Sergio. because the weight does not matter at all.

Have you ever played a sport where you need to cut weight??? Its a horrible feeling. Try training when you are eating apples and oranges all day. You dont have much energy to train.

To an extent it's harder coming down in weight then going up.

If you're good enough then you're big enough as guys like Pacquiao and Mayweather have proved.

In Pacquiao vs Marquez weight is a non-issue and completely over talked about. With other fighters, it's sometimes is an issue.
