Biggest robbery since the luftansa heist. I realise that Maidana would beat Khan so bad that Freddie Roach would retire

First, Maidana should of probably won and second, I don't think anyone considers him some kind of superior boxer. He is dangerous though.

Why do thread starters make a thread and then run away from it when it don't go their way?

It was a close fight but I thought kotelnik shaded it. Most ppl on this forum think maidana is jesus with boxing gloves

How was it a 'hometown decision' when the fight was in Germany between two non-German fighters who were both based in Germany and both with the same promoter?

Haven't seen the fight, but I always heard Maidana got jobbed and Kotelnik had to thank his incredible chin instead of his boxing skills. And if not, the scores show that it was at least very close (115-114, 113-115, 115-113) SD for Kotelnik.
So he wasn't 'outboxed' by a mile, and everybody knows what Maidana's real power is...

By the way... post no 1000 :party

Because only Kotelnik was based in Germany and Maidana is obviously and CLEARLY based in Argentina...(The promoter was German)

Ukraine fighters typically have strong ties with Germany like the K Bros. Kotelnik is another example.

Do you realize that the majority of the press had it for Kotelnik (as well as myself) and while Maidana was simply busier, Kotelnik was far more effective? The germanophobia never gets old. Reality is another thing.

It was a close fight, i thought it could have gone either way.

But u have to realise that Kotelnik ate some monstrous shots in there and was even hurt in round 9. khan would never survive something like that.

So it tells you nothing, Kotelnik went the distance cuz he has much much better chin and much better defence than khan.

Glad somebody brang it up. Maidanda is a just a one dimensional banger, Ortiz would beat second time round.... Khan, Alexander and Bradley would also rip apart!

The promoter was Universum who promoted both fighters.

Maidana was based in Germany for boxing purposes after signing with Universum. Four of his previous five fights were in Germany before fighting Kotelnik. If you don't believe me, maybe you'll believe him:

    http://www.boxingnews24.com/2010/03/interview-rene-marcos-maidana-part-ii/

"I learned a lot in Germany. The culture, the correctness of the people. I really love Germany. After all, Germany has important power. I would love to go there again and learn more of the people there. I will always be grateful for what I learned over there, for the way people helped my pushing my career and for the way I was treated."

"My second home country is Germany, the time I spent there was very important for my career. I will always be thankful to Universum and the German people. I often talk to my friends in this wonderful country and I do hope to come back and be able to give back some of the affection they showed me."

I like KHAN a fan of this kid. However, KHAN has a long way to go.This fight is a dangerous fight.

Now.. he can beat Maidana but he could get KO'ed himself. He makes mistakes like ORTIZ. He gotta protect that CHIN.

He is open, way too open.

It's all well and all against Paulie. But I tell you he will feel like he's getting hit by heavy rock- solid hands from Maidana.

Maidana got jobbed in that fight! I was so impressed by him in that fight but I was worried that that may have been his only shot. When a guy does not have a name and is that dangerous it is hard for him to get a big fight. I am glad he is in the mix with the "big names" right now.
