Do people really rate Roy Jones win over Bernard Hopkins?

Dont get me wrong because its a good win, but its definately not a great win.
Yes Jones was a novice at the time also, but was known with an Olympic background. Hopkins was an unknown MW with a loss on his record who after losing to Jones couldnt win a world title in his next attempt where he was put over twice and nearly KOd by Mercado. It wouldnt have looked that special a result if anyone asked straight after the Mercado fight and didnt look that special a result at the time.
Neither had beaten anyone of note and Hopkins had already been beaten and only drew with Mercado after.

Its like saying C Mitchells win over Hopkins was a good win.

I dont rate Hopkins win over Tito that much. Tito was a former WW that had been put over 7 times that I know of, and had only had one MW fight, never done well at the weight or above, whilst Hopkins turned pro inside the CW limit.

Still all this was a bit before the time ofaa young kid like yourself

Hopkins had already lost coming in.

How many fighters did Hopkins fight at MW who were as naturally heavy as him and as big as him? Remember on his debut he weighed in inside the CW limit.
After Jones beat Hopkins, Hopkins only went 4-0-1 in his first 5 fights and was lucky to some not to have a loss in that draw when put over twice and nearly KOd
