What a ****ing **** and rehashed list made by a Roy Fan boy.

    Pathetic.

How naive of you to leave out the fact that Roy actually avoided 99% of the top MW-SMW's during his era.

    Where is Gerald,Benn,Jackson,Nunn,Eubank.

That's five names. Five of the most dangerous from his era. You can't just not FIGHT FIVE NAMES.

I admit the Dariuz situation could be debated, but the 'big 5' he avoided can not be. They were prime around the same time, they came up around the same time, they were in similar weight classes.

These were the most dangerous fighters of Roy's MW-SMW Reign.
    Gerald
    Benn
    Jackson
    Nunn
    Eubank
    Toney
    Hopkins

    Collins and Daruiz were debatable.

But anyways out of the 9 he should have fight.
    He fought 2.
One was green, the other was weight drained.

I am 100% certain if Calzaghe's era was at the same time, Roy would have avoided him too.
    100%.

Roy's entire ****ing p4p LEGACY is up for debate because he didn't fight the guys he was suppose to fight.

Roy Jones was one of the most gifted athletes in the history of boxing.
People have to understand though, the reason his body held up for such a long time is because the fighters he fought were not vicious and good enough to do accumulative damage. He never had wars, because he rarely fought warriors. He never had Hagler-Hearns Round 1's because he avoided his generation's punchers. He never had to go through brutal battles and hard fought wins, so his body was able to last longer and his career along with all that p4p bull**** was able to blind people for a decade.

    Now head to head.

Can Roy Jones beat a Prime Eubank, a Prime Benn, a Prime Nunn, a Prime Mccellan, a Prime Jackson, a Prime Daruiz? Yes, I say YES to all of them

The issue is if Roy had actually fought them and actually went through that list like he was SUPPOSED to. His career would never had lasted beyond 1999.
He might have been able to beat a Prime Eubank, but Chris would have hurt him badly in a number of rounds. Roy might have been able to beat a Prime Benn, but Benn would have kept coming again and again and definitely would have done damage. Same with Nunn and Daruiz.
If Roy had fought Nunn-Eubank-Jackson-Mccellan. By the time he gets to Nigel Benn, his body would have already absorbed a massive amount of punishment up to that point, his reflexes would have been slowed as early as 1996-1997ish.

The Roy Jones we saw in 2003-2004, we would have seen in 1996-1997 if he fought everyone he was supposed to fight. There won't even had been a John Ruiz because his career would have been ended by 1997.

Ironically, if he had won all those wars his legend would have ACTUALLY BEEN LARGER than it is now... See self preservation didn't help, it hurt him.If he had faced the best like he was supposed to, he would have retired with a GREAT resume and would not be getting knocked the **** out now.

    Ask yourselves this people.

If Muhammad Ali had ducked Joe Frazier's three fights and George FOreman. How much longer would he have lasted?

A lot longer. If Ali had fought 2nd tier fighters instead of Frazier and Foreman, he would have avoided massive punishment to his body, probably prolonging his career at the 'top' for another 4-5 years.

Ali didn't duck though and his decline happened by age 33ish because he was a true warrior.

Roy's real decline should have happened around 97-98 if he had faced the best.

I've only ever seen the fight once. Watched it live on tv and remember it being a pretty one sided boring fight between 2 fighters who up to that point I had only read about. Wasn't that impressed by Jones at the time but he was the clear winner.
I have to say though looking back on it considering what Hopkins went on to do it was a very good win. Probably as good as could be asked for against a guy who went on to become one of the best middleweight fighters ever.

Toney was 5'9 and had been 160 champ 2 years previously. If he didnt train hard enough to weigh in at 168, thats his problem. But dont give me that crap about him being "weight drained" he was 44-0 defending his nown title!

Hopkins had more fights than Jones and had been pro longer and was older. He went on a more than 10 year undefeated streak after that.

Nunn wasnt prime the same time as Jones, neither was Jackson. Those guys both had 30 something fights before Jones ever even got robbed in Korea!

The was huge buzz around a possible McClellan fight before what happened with Benn. Maybe if things had turned out so tragic in that fight, they may have fought. It was also widely known that Jones and Gerald were good friends which may have contributed to them not fighting up til that point.

EUBANK PERSONALLY ADMITTED THAT HE NEVER WANTED TO FIGHT JONES WHEN HE(EUBANK) WAS IN HIS PRIME!! HE ONLY EVER LOOKED FOR THE JONES FIGHT AFTER HE LOST TWICE TO COLLINS!!! I DONT KNOW HOW MANY TIMES THAT HAS TO BE SAID ON THIS SITE. THE QUOTE HAS BEEN PUT UP COUNTLESS TIMES!!!

Benn, not so sure about that one. Sometimes its just tough to fight everyone, most greats have holes in their record.

He did however beat the guy that beat Benn in Malinga.(a guy who fought Eubank to a split decision)

    Stunning logic.

Hopkins fought all sorts of top class opponents in his career, yet he went on to fight at the top level til he was in his mid 40s.....

Hops back then was a monster, and that whole division was pretty ****ing serious. That was a great win for Roy, dont know wtf you are talking about. I am pretty ****ing certain that there is no boxer alive who could have beat that Roy Jones Jr.

Doesn't say alot yeah Ok Bailey let them be ranked by the WBO and you would have built them up as world beaters ! Considering what Hopkins did in the division his ranking was justified same with Roy ! And back then rankings actually meant something unlike today ..

A lot of his decline also has to do with the Shavers fight as well.

Michaelzcweski lost to Gonzales, who Roy Jones absolutely clowned.

Oh yeah, and because Eubank said Roy Jones ducked him, it must be true right  Eubank couldn't tie Roy's boots.

Jackson would have done nothing for Jones' career. Jones would have stopped him inside of 3 rounds.

Jackson is a hofer. It would of been a solid win, which also would of made him the unified ibf/wbc champion at mw

Jones did not rate Eubank, he said so himself back in a 94 interview with Donald McRae the sportwriter for Vanity Fair.

Eubank did not want to fight the top American fighters either, its the reason he never faced ANY of them
