I mean, sure, he doesn't trash talk or anything. But I am very interested and tuned in every time he speaks. He's very well spoken and shares what's on his mind all the time. I actually prefer it to the generic oh you know it's gonna be a great fight make sure you tune in.
I don't care how boring someone is out of the ring. In the ring is what matters and Joshua certainly is not boring as a fighter. Look at Fury. Runs his mouth but his fights are boring as ****.
I personally like his interviews, he's articulate and says the right things. He seems to realise he has a lot to learn and needs to sacrifice and be professional to continue to succeed. And I guess most people feel the same as he clearly is very popular. Just goes to show you don't need to trash talk to put bums on seats, how you perform in the ring matters more.
I find him pretty interesting to be honest, he is good at putting into words his mindset as a fighter. people call the guy fake but i find his personality more genuine than these fake beefs and trash talking where you don't see the real person. Look at Fury, he was clearly acting most of the time, its a facade, he is probably a very shy and insecure person covering it up with his antics, there was clearly something not right there, and still isn't by the looks of it. Dont get me wrong, I like Fury but for all his antics you get an unstable fighter. Joshua at this point kind of reminds me of a young Tyson, in the way he comes across as knowing his craft and is saying the right things, he is motivated to destroy his competition. The reformed hero, talking about the bad stuff he did as a child, his brutal mentality in the ring but still a good guy outside the ring. the fact you know he has that mean streak kind of makes him interesting. When Tyson said AJ has the world in his hands it probably reminds him of the adulation he got as the new exciting heavyweight. Its not the full story obviously, so its difficult to really know what he is like but at this point he is coming across very well. For Britain it could be like having a Bruno upgrade lol I wonder how Lennox is taking it as well, as it seems in this one fight AJ is getting more adulation than he ever did, old Lenny just didnt have that personality that the public could warm to.
I like AJ and Joseph Parker as champions, they ultimately are just there to fight - Tyson Fury, Dillian Whyte etc are NOT my cup of tea outside of the ring and to a degree inside the ring. There is no need for that stuff, it doesn't make the fight any more interesting to me as I am a BOXING fan.
I honestly could care less if a boxer is exciting outside of the ring if he can't back it up inside the ring. AJ is well-spoken, can structure his arguments and is respectful of his opponents. What a great asset to our sport. And he knocks people out and delivers epic ring wars -- considering his young age. What's not to like?
I always try to avoid the whole WWE side show cr_p. Calling a boxer exciting because he runs his mouth outside of the ring, and then runs (not his mouth) inside the ring, is what bugs me to no end. Cool oneliners and then living up to it, fine, and when delivered in a good way I really like that! But spouting bull all the time and then choking or not even turning up on fightnight, then please get off my screen. Joshua delivers inside the ring. That's what counts!
I don't find him boring per se but in this age where there are daily or hourly tweets, contant interviews for youtube, and too may press conferences and updates, it's bound to get repetitive. The fact that he has his head screwed on right and he's focussed and level-headed means he's basically going to say the same thing over and over. The only thing I dislike about AJ's image is the overt product placement and constant advertising. I can't blame him for raking in the sponsorship money though.
Incredibly, incredibly boring. It's just sterile platitudes. That's all you ever hear. It's like every word he says is planned by a PR council to be least offensive. And frankly, I'm not sure that isn't what's happening.
Each to their own but I can't stand listening to AJ. He gets asked a simple question and then goes on some ten minute philosophical spiel as if he's some almighty power. Just answer the bloody question man. He tries so hard to say everything so perfectly that I cringe, nobody is perfect. He's never made me laugh or entertained me in an interview in any way. I try to avoid listening to him now tbh. I understand he can be an entertaining boxer but that wasn't the question. I respect that Tyson Fury isn't everyones cup of tea but I could listen to him all day. People can say he's putting on an act or whatever and they're right, all entertainers are actors. And that's why I love him, he makes a huge effort to make people laugh and that's exactly what he does for his fans. He's also genuinely a little crazy which nakes him my type of people and it's refreshing to see someone these days who doesn't tell the general public what they want to hear. Tyson is his own man and I've all the respect in the world for him. We're all flawed and Tyson will tell you his flaws, I like that.
The numbers don't lie,I take no notice of a few haters cause the public have voted on their feet with AJ,for all his good image he was trash talking during the fight which I love actually
His nasty side comes out in the ring. He smiles and laughs when he has an opponent hurt. He's a proper sadist.
