Do people understand Golovkin is 36/37 years old?

why would you want him to retire if you had him clearly winning? i knew he was old before the fight, and told you.

Lol it depends on what GGG wants i.e. if he wants to cash out with a final big pay day.

But i find it funny how the entire world is dick riding Canelo completely forgetting GGG was the older past his prime fighter in there.

    Because he’s sliding.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when he chose to use the jab off the back foot. It worked, but it’s not his style. It cost him the fight. The rounds were way closer this time around than last.

I feel maybe he knew he couldn’t do what he did last year with coming forward all 12.

As Legendary as GGG's chin is, he cannot keep getting hit like this anymore. He should pack it in.

He's obviously been declining for quite a while now. He's definitely lost speed and isn't able to pull the trigger as quickly as he used to which is huge when you're in against a fast handed and highly skilled P4P elite talent like Clenelo. David Benavidez who is a longtime sparring partner of GGG's says he's even noticed that his power has diminished and like I said he's someone who has been sparring GGG for years.

Those clubbing shots where he hits the guy on the top of the head, a few years ago, would have at least dropped Canelo in this fight.

    Power has faded, yeah.

Power is often the last thing to go. Which means it's probably time for GGG to hang them up.

In the past, no way this fight goes beyond the 10th round, at the latest.

Why does he need to retire?

Because he’s getting robbed x2 against a cash cow?

Who legitimately beats him at 160?

    Answer: nobody.

The sad thing is that he's showed two different styles, at the age of 35/36, to defeat a 28 year old prime P4P top 10 guy.

    Tonight was a terrific performance.

The puncher, outboxed the boxer.....Yet gets no credit.

Lol funny you say this but you are the same people who wanted a 40+ Floyd to fight a young 30 year old GGG. Loving the double standards - just GFTO lol

    @bandeedo

    GGG won both times.....

But it's also clear to see that the more these guys fight, GGG's age means that the gap becomes smaller and smaller until the pendulum swings to the point where Canelo becomes the better fighter.

Given he's been awared a draw and a loss in 2 fights he won, or at worst won 1 and drew the other, he clearly needs a KO.

As time passes, that KO becomes more and more unlikely.....At least for GGG.

And he looked like he was in his prime. For a 36 year old, he sure looked ****ing great.
Compare him to a 36 year old Mosley and then talk to me.

Funny how these recent great MW champs seem to perform extremely well beyond 36. Hopkins, Martinez and Golovkin all looked amazing at 36.
