Hopkins calzaghe and pbf were older than that quit crying and making excuses. He's not in that class overrated.

And thats's why I won money on Canelo... the age factor.

Canelo still young.. can still learn.. get better.. get stronger . had a year to do so... and last result was a draw... this was a no brainer for me.

Canelo body shots are tough... they sap energy out of opponent and take a bit out.of their soul.. that can change outcomes too.

If he wants a normal life he should retire. The problem with Golovkin is his fighting style relies on absorbing punishment. He never was a defense first fighter like Mayweather or Calzaghe. In just his two fights with Alvarez he took a tremendous amount of punishment. These were wars. Wars at the highest level. Fighters go their entire career never having fights like that. He's had two.

The interesting part of the Alvarez/Golovkin story might be how much did these two wars cost Alvarez?

He didn't 'choose' to go on the backfoot, Canelo put him there. This should be obvious.

Golovkin has never been the 40 y/o guy calling other guys "easy work" and then refusing to face them.

There is no doubt that GGG won. 100% robbery in both fights.

Hopkins is the outlier and Calzaghe wasn't starting to look a lot more vulnerable and late 30s Floyd just about hung on to his grip on the p4p rankings due to guile.

Hopkins may well have beaten Golovkin - a good argument can certainly be made - but they're def in the same class in regards to the middleweight conversation IMO.

When was Golovkin dropped twice by a Mercado type fighter?

Golovkin may nog be on Calzaghe level or baby hands Floyd but he certainly is Hopkins especially at 160.

Hopkins was very likely on some of that Philly Steak, rumours are he got it off the same butcher as Canelo's team.
