I saw a vid stating pro fighters more often than not try to punch like Mike Tyson with meaner intentions than amateur fighters, is this true? Which fighters became harder punchers as pros?

I've seen AMs punch harder than pros & vice versa. Every human is different

Pros are stronger but they need to maintain their power/stamina for 36 minutes, amateur fighting is only 9-15 minutes so they can go harder

Come on Mark, this thread is absolute nonsense yet again from you. Are you drunk when you post on here?

It’s totally subjective, depends on a range of factors and there’s no way to get a definitive answer.

Most amateurs are kids, of course on average a pro hits harder than an amateur.

They may well do, but there’s absolutely no way to quantify this over such an enormous sample size it making it a pointless thread.

True I suppose. I actually look forward to Mark’s threads because they’re so weird.

Not to mention pros are more experienced generally. So they have years of polishing and working on power as well.

Amateurs don't focus on strength and conditioning like Pro's do.

Pro's make it a focus to get physically stronger with resistance exercises and explosive workouts.

Amateurs focus on the basics, and the sweet science rather than putting on muscle and power

Not necessarily! It depends on the individual! Unless we have a sufficiently large sample size, where we take a sufficient amount of pro and amateur boxers, and then test their maximum power (assuming they are being honest with their power) in a power gauging machine, then there is no way to really make any definite / factual claim.

In the amateurs it doesn't matter how hard you punch. Unless the rules changed what matters is that you make contact regardless of power.

So naturally a fighter doesn't need to risk getting caught swing with a power punch when its enough with just landing more quick punches.

Fighters like Golovkin and Lara who had very long and quality amateurs careers feel that landing more jabs is enough to win them fights.
