Have anyone that answered tried any PED? Otherwise it’s just a guessing game between a bunch of pencil necks that have no clue how steroids actually work.

It seems so by observation since small fighters going up with PED-help often have seemingly improved chins. And they should really be struggling more to take the bigger punches. If they were only getting power not 'chin' then we'd have all these 'glass cannons' after weight jumping.

Canelo is probably the best example of it these days. How is he getting hurt by Cotto's brother and then taking these shots from Golovkin and then even bigger LHW-size fighters (Smith, Kovalev, Bivol) with less effect?

Pac is the other one. He's getting hurt by tiny fighters then suddenly he's fighting basically LMWs and not getting hurt.

Tyson Fury once said you can't put muscles on your chin; maybe so, but you can certainly put muscles on your neck which would help punch resistance.

Yes, but you have to inject them directly on the chin.

I've never seen a case (at the elite level) where steroids helped someone's chin.

You either have 'sheen or you don't

Roy was a lab experiment but I can honestly say as a lifelong fan of boxing, a combat sports enthusiast who has literally watched a billion fights, and a former feared street fighter, I've never seen nor encountered anyone with a glass chin as brittle as his.

The HL reel one punch KO loss to Grandpa Glenn Johnson is one of the most embarrassing things I've ever witnessed. Johnson literally sparked him out cold upon impact with an innocuous love tap that wouldn't have wobbled an old lady for goodness sake. I could take 1000 of them without blinking

Whatever Pryor took in that black bottle vs Arguello certainly improved his punch resistance.

The punches Arguello hit Pryor with especially right hand in 13th round would've KO'ed an Elephant.

Roids indirectly support the chin since they help develop the trapezius muscle. But plainly speaking I dont think roids actually do much for chin although they def help confidence and self-belief

Pac was clearly draining himself at the lower weights. You can tell by how easy he went up in weight. Same with Canelo, who started pro as teen just like Pac and they grew into higher weight classes.

I'm sure being drained makes you less durable and probably also drains your stamina. It has nothing to do with PEDs.

It's why Morrison tired after 5 rounds right? Didn't look like it helped him that much

Yep spot on. And there is also gear that definitely aids in recovery after being hurt too. I guess that’s kinda where the aggression factor comes in. First fight that comes to mind is Joshua in the Wlad fight. That barrage in the 6th round SHOULD have finished a guy with THAT type of punch resistance.

I think they are called ‘Cheque Drops’ but they supposedly make fighters ultra aggressive within an hour after taking them. I believe Test suspension leaves the system within several hours after taking it so that’s another one I’m sure is used.

You cannot train a Chin. Having good ‘defense’ doesn’t help your Chin.
    Glass Jaws exist in boxing.

OPs question is asking if roids improve punch resistance? If you take someone with an already good chin and their muscularity and stamina levels now get a boost using pharmaceuticals, yes that will help the "chin". Someone with a weak chin, would also benefit from that but that alone would not be the difference to give them a good chin.

PEDs improve athletics in multiple ways, if they didn't athletes wouldn't take them.
