I was watching the Barrera/Morales fight for like the 100th time and it got me thinking, do some guys just have it when it comes to boxing?

Sounds like a strange questions I know, but these guys took and ate punches like no other that would leave a normal person out on there feet. And with this fight as well as other fights over the years, it really got me thinking, why can these guys take so many hard hits yet you always hear about in the news where guys die after a few rounds in or like the other day, I heard of a young boxer die who, after winning his pro debut of 4 rounds, he went into a coma and died.

Is it lack of training? Getting hit in the worst spot? In there too soon? Mistakes from the boxer? Form?

Seems like an obvious question but always wondered what everyone here thought :bbb

You can get hit in a street fight and die too. It does not matter fighting is deadly and the word "safe" is an oxymoron.

Think they are just lucky and being born with an iron jaw helps too. Margarito loss against mosley is a prime example. I've rarely seen a fighter take that many flush haymakers to the head without going to sleep. It's fairly evident that iron chins exist.
